Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.
Tilehurst Towers is inundated with grandchildren playing with shields, swords, axes and force fields! Don’t ask me.
Bloods this morning were 5.6

Now this new layout of the forum, so far not impressed or keen.

Blinking heck.
It wouldn't let me in saying I didn't have permission.
Finally I got in...
I DON'T LIKE IT
IT IS NOT EASY TO READ...

It is doing my head in...
I need to redesign this....
Can I change my display to white on black ?
Would that be better....

I do not like the like button only showing a few icons. These are pathetic, and do not allow an expression how I feel about someone's post. Far too limited. Might as well not express anything with them.
Yes, I totally agree with you @gennepher

EDIT.
i guess they are moving things around still

For White lettering on a BLACK Background..(i prefer it to the whiter shades of the new one )

IF on Mobile
go to hamburger menu header page at top of page
and click on the YOU icon (small chess piece ;))
then PREFERENCES

OF on L:aptop (& pc most likely)
Go to AVATAR at TOP Right of page.
click it
then go preferences

Pick DARK theme.

as for logging in.

i wonder if it's the same issue.

i leave site, like before.

but when i return it show me HOME page of forum (Red one)
and requests a LOG IN

BUT when i go to log back IN..
it tells me I am already logged in
Click HERE to return to the forum list.

and i'm back in without logging back in...:)

a glitch or just something to be aware of..who knows :bag:
I don't have a pc or a laptop. I only have my iPad. I already use accessibility colour filter to enable me to read. I had to change it to a green/red filter to enable me to read this page, otherwise I could barely make it out.
This has given me a literal headache.
I tried to reverse the colour of the page, but the only thing that went black was the browser header. The actual site page didn't change.
I am now very frustrated. Wasted an hour on this.
This is straining my eyes.

Same stands...I tried..but I am staying off a few days.i will try again next week...

I popped in to see if anything had changed.

Safari browser warned me not to enter.

Still going round the houses to get in.

I have up to date security on my new iPad mini.

But I over rode this too get in.
I won't be doing this again, unless the security is updated.
Perhaps the mods would like to review their current security.

What’s going on - what a terrible change to make. I can hardly read anything. I have changed my font size to the very largest but nothing seems to have happened - any ideas @Goonergal ? (I use an IPad).

Good morning everyone from the awfulness of my attempt to read anything on the site this morning. I have had to change my password (not in itself a bad thing). Grandchildren are being collected this morning after a fun packed week with us despite bouts of rain (welly boots and waterproof coats abound). Physio yesterday and the dream machine was given yet another exercise to contend with, this time with a big inflatable ball and a chair - very complicated and needed something called multi-tasking. Tricky. Good news is that I now have a place on the next back pain programme - a three week residential course aimed at getting to a place where back and rest of body can live in some sort of harmony. Art bit - another beginning. Have a wonderful Saturday if you can. I must now go and make koffy.

Sorry to hear that

As I said earlier...I too found the paler pages hard.

Went to my account and in preferences chose the DARK theme

So white lettering on a black background.
Much clearer for me.

I think they let this loose early to give us something to use, and are beavering away to sort all these niggling issues

Some repot similar that font size isn't changing .

I suspect until it settles down, it might be a case of trying one on the other themes under preferences to see if that makes the right effect ...(default / UI.X / DARK UI.X)

Morning @dunelm

Glad physio went as good as it could.
We both know even the little movements we can make, can make a difference longer term ..so well done from me

Better news clearly is the residential course
Hopefully either getting to the very core of the issue or at best giving you some more 'professional' tools You can use at home.

Great news indeed.

Thank’s @jjraak - I have just changed to a dark setting - not perfect but as you suggested, a bit more readable.
Good to hear it's more useable

A little more from a mixed bag of OK or Woe, from various members

Morning all as we adjust to the new look. I'm ok with the colours and font size but miss the agree and hug ratings. Summer is hanging on here so we had a lovely time at Thetford Forest High Lodge with the Winchester Gang yesterday. They are off home today, teacher to meet before school starts Wednesday, so the house will seem somewhat different. Just time for me to catch up on some sport and for us to prepare for Sunday lunch with MIL. Good news on the physio and impending residential @dunelm. That beginning promises to end with perhaps my all time favourite piece of your wonderful art. No pressure. Do take good care of yourselves there's an Omnishambles coming. Must go, I have to parade up and down the main drag with me sandwich board.

That is worrying .:wideyed:

Though I have come across similar on sites I use and felt safe on

Thinks it's something to do with how the web works and certain authorises take longer to process changes ?

Wonder if the admins had other reports of such ?

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, here in Tilehurst Towers we are still inundated with grandchildren, I have fed and watered them, all the wrong things and now I’m about to get them to wake Mrs J, naughty naughty crazy grandad.
Blood sugars this morning were 5.5
This could well be my last posting for sometime while the injury’s inflicted by Mrs J recover.
Stay safe all, clearly I’m not.

5.4 this morning. Off to Norwich for classes. Really enjoying getting back to work. Wasted quite a lot of time fiddling about with the settings on this site but it is still really pale.

Cheers for the tag jjraak, I’ve reported the issue using @gennepher ’s screenshots, bringing to the attention of the “boffins.”

I own the latest iPad myself, (mini 6) with a recent security update done last weekend. I’ve not had this experience.
But every little bit of info regarding glitches, helps…

Apologies, I’m no longer a mod/‘behind the curtain’ so I know as much (little) as you. Not enjoying the change so far. I guess some of it is just familiarity, but there are definite issues with contrast, visibility and finding things. I’ll tag @Administrator for you.

Editing to say that it does seem that some features work better / worse according to the ‘scheme’ you’re using. I just tried adjusting font size in ‘default’ and it didn’t change. It does change using UI.X. I’m also on an iPad.

football, both the game and the culture.
OW! Ow ow ow. That hurts. Must remember the rules!
1 Tip apples into bag- stand well back while wasps and hornets emerge.
2 don't get into a hornets flight path.
OW!
Yesterday after wasp sting spray and multiple ice packs I was wondering why hornets have such a fearsome reputation. Today the swelling and redness is covering the base of my thumb and is heading to the inner elbow. It's extremely uncomfortable. Google tells me the swelling continues to increase for forty eight hours and can take seven to ten days to go down. Ok it's time to take antihistamine.
