What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Not sure what to do with myself tonight. Back too sore to sit, legs to sore to stand. Up to maximum permissable painkillers today and it really isn't touching the pain. Very tired, but that's the drugs. I think I'll go to bed, although it's early for me and I'll be back up in a couple of hours but I might just feel better by then. So - goodnight all. I hope your night is better than mine is shaping up to be.
Hope you managed to get some sleep during the night.

,No wonder Orkney would prefer to be under the umbrella of Norway they are one of the countries with the largest Sovereign wealth funds. So why not Shetland as well they have never seen themselves as Scottish?
Now Norway have enough minerals to cover the world's production of batteries and other renewable kit for a hounded years.

I guess geologist are now looking in the mountains of Scotland and northeast of N.A. which I believe have the same fossils and materials. The former plate split to make the Atlantic Ocean.

How our planet keeps making the face of the ground new is absolutely amazing.
D.
I think that they are beginning to nibble at the bottom bit in Cornwall but as usual in these things it all depends upon injecting loads of cash. As you say, the geologists are probably scouring all the granite areas for signs.

Good morning everyone from another glorious start here in the dark and dangerous north. I love the quiet first thing in the morning. I means that I get another go at having a good day. Sharpening the garden tools and scissors went without a hitch and all fingers still intact. Girl in the Bubble stayed last night and as she only does school in the afternoon on Fridays, there will probably be a walk into town for toast and butter (or is it the other way round). Art bit - some shading added. Might add some colour later today. @Annb, I hope that you are more comfortable today and wish everyone a pleasant Friday. My koffy is ready.

I do hope that the pain eases @Annb

6.3 this morning. Hopefully the downwards trend will continue.
It will be a relaxing day today as the computer engineer is setting up Mr K's new computer and replacing my ancient screen with a new widescreen which should make teaching my zoom class a lot easier.

He is also installing a new state of the art anti virus on both computers in place of Norton Antivirus.

Greatly improved this morning, thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Sorry to have been a bit of a wet blanket last night. I just needed to talk to someone.
About to take my 2nd lot of painkillers (first lot about 3.15 am) but they are, at least making the pain much less. Hope to manage without any more today after this.
BG at 3.30 was 10.4. 10.1 at 6.30 and 8.9 now. Breakfast some time soon. Pills, yoghurt and tea for now. The yoghurt makes the pills go down. I'm not good at swallowing pills, even tiny ones.

You had a lot of travelling to get to that hospital appointment. It was most likely far too much for you. You need quite a bit of time to wind down from all the effort involved in that.
Take care @Annb

Morning all, how you 'doin? A pleasant start here in L.A. weather wise and highs of 27 in store for two days so the standard kit - cargo shorts with a good back pocket and good zips are essential for a gent of a certain age - and absolutely no socks. Pool slides are for the young IMHO. @Annb I gave a winner as I'm so pleased that you feel better today - long may it continue. @Krystyna23040 good news on the lower fbgs lately, all the upgrades and a more leisurely day. Could you send the tech folk round to upgrade a few of us please? @dunelm have a wonderful time with TGIB. Amazing how something as mundane as toast and butter can bring joy. MIL never fails to say that was lovely for hers each morning. Thanks for sharing the art again and well done on retaining all your digits. @alf_Josiah I hope normal for Tilehurst service is resumed ASAP. @gennepher I hope you have enough energy to fully enjoy the precious time with your daughter. Thank you for sharing that wonderful kaleidoscope. My parents grew Hebes so I had an idea what they are. I see crab and beetle like insects but I'm mad as a box of frogs. Cricket and tennis to watch, mild weather, keto bagels and salmon salad day - what's not to give thanks to God for? Enjoy your own simple pleasures as much as lies within your power.

Good morning all and a change in weather in the windy west!
7.4 yesterday 6.8 this morning, so still a bit of a rollercoaster.
Yesterday, was a bit of a bad day.
She, who must be looked after wanted to go to town, this was very early, I had a look on many, many websites, for this little something that I eventually cornered, and ordered. But still wanted a trip out. So shopping trolley, we got the bus. Getting off the bus, and stopping at a retaler of foot things, she couldn't sort her purse, bus pass and had no cash to pay, so to save face and help, I paid. As we proceeded, the question was, have you left your bus pass/purse been left on the bus?
'I don't know!'
So at this other retail emporium, much similar to a pavilion we searched high and low for her things! I always thought that pavilion was Indian, and every changing room in cricket is referred as a pavilion. The Chinese never got cricket! It's amusing that the latest cricket country to play in the world cup qualifiers, is the USA!!!!
Anyway, we had to go back and find her losings! But I got distracted and in a moment, my dearest had disappeared, gone.
Just as I was heading into panic mode, she snuck back up on me, and frightened me something Friday night, fright night! Not there! But where?
We sat on a bench just as the big raindrops started falling, no coats, and I heard curses from alongside me. I insisted on moving at a leisurely pace, then a remembering of a sneaky pocket in the shopping trolley. They were there all along!
I must add that I was doing well, to hold my frustrations!
No I wasn't! I was blowing steam!
I calmed down a little, due to relief in discovery and a smell coming down the pavement.
Not what your dirty minds are going! It was a shop selling roasted pigs! Of course, I have always hungered after a good ham shank, so of couse, the trolley was lumbered with my dinner, and subsequent meals! My mouth is watering now!
A couple more errands and, apologies from both of us, for tolerance under pressure, from misrememberitis! (Great word, just made it up) It was time to venture home for my wife and to honour my appointment with the physiotherapy assessment. It was touch and go whether the bus could get me there on time. If there is something I despise it is being tardy. My anxiety is ruthless if I'm running a tad shoddy timewise! But no bother, the physio, was behind with his appointment times.
Twenty minutes later, I was in agony! After having my Interpretation of some stretching, balancing, getting on and off bed, pointing my toes, my walking gait was quite humorous and stilted. However, it was done for good purpose and a referral for more physicality, investigation and treatment was advised and head nodding with enthusiasm when he inspired my insistence on doing specialised body movements or yoga!
I got the first bus possible, but as soon to every outcome this day, it was late, and the subsequent linking this route to our house, which should arrive a couple of minutes later, had decided to be early! And it had started with the big raindrops again (No coat!) It was already dropping in temperature to nearly really quite cold!
No shelter from wind and rain! A couple of birthdays ago, I would have just walked! So frustrating!
Bus was late, and what should have been a twenty minute journey home, was close to an hour!
My beloved had decided to nap, I made tea, then fell into the couch! I couldn't move until the pain had eased.
I had hunger, anger, and I couldn't find anything from the shops. I didn't want to disturb the dreamer. So I took it upon myself to search high and low, for my food. I nearly had to settle for something else, but as I proceeded into the kitchen, the heat searing my palm gave me a clue to the whereabouts of my feast.
My granddaughter came round after tea and put a smile on my face! Went to bed early!

My beloved is resting this morning and I'm enjoying the sun in my garden. Listening to the frailty of our
batting at Headingly. Daughter is much better and applying for jobs. So that is a big relief!
I should go the local grocer for fresh stuff, but my hamstrings are tight and I'm still not walking well! Done a few exercising, but not too strenuous, or very much at all,

Have a lovely day while the sun is out!
Stay safe!

Ok lemon tea it is.
Outside until MrSlim arrived with coffee
Opened the brassica cage and pulled everything up. Snails and flea beetles are munching away, so it's best to harvest what is available now, otherwise it may well be inedible in a couple of weeks. Cauliflower cheese tonight. Now I have space to plant something else.
My brother is back home now, although somehow the recovery period has extended. Now five to eight weeks. Obviously I was wrong about it being only three.
