A shame that the free broadband plan didn't go ahead @Lamont D
It would be an improvement on the current situation if everyone could at least get a reliable broadband service, even if not free. It's been windy here for quite a while now and our overhead BT connection gets blown around in the wind and is only really an intermittent service. Can never tell if it will be working when we want it. Same with the telephone. When it's windy there is so much noise on the line that nobody can hear anything. There was a plan to put all the cables under the ground - they even came along our road and laid cables (years ago now) but they never buried them and they never connected them beyond a point about 100 yards away from us so our connection, and everyone else in our road beyond us, has a cable stretched from the nearest telegraph pole.

10.9 at 3.30 am. 8.1 now. Chilly morning - the heating has come on even though I turned the thermostat down but it hasn't made me feel warm enough despite my triple layers including a fleece jacket with quilted lining. I suppose it is the shape of things to come so I'd better get used to it.

Good morning everyone, including the early risers on a dull and overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north. When I was earning a crust, I would invariably rise at about 0530 and get just about a day’s admin done before breakfast. Not so much now, between 6 and 7 am. A trusty 5.0 this am, shades of @jjraak and his collection of Aloha greetings. Next door neighbour was mowing his lawn yesterday and telling me that he hopes that it will be the last for this year! I’m hanging on in case we have an Indian hour. It has to get done before they cease garden bin collections on 16th November - so still time enough. Bratwurst - they have been missing in supermarkets up here for a couple of years but yesterday I spotted some. So currywurst, that famous delicacy from Berlin is firmly back on the menu. Thank you Morrisons. Best not get too oompah band about it, probably just an opportunity to con the locals into playing at Octoberfest for the month. Art bit, this may take another day or so. Hope your day has some smiles on the calendar. I shall drink koffy and think happy little thoughts, like Bob Ross when painting trees.

Our heating came on, right out of the blue, a few days ago. I gave it an hour or so and then turned the thermostat down even more. What’s the point in buying thick socks, gloves and a Fair Isle kep if you’re not going to use them.

It may be somewhat warmer today.
Helen's up since Friday and staying at a farm converted barn up the road with hubby, from Friday to Friday so we are having a lunch out today.
She dropped in yesterday afternoon and insisted taking us to a COVID walk in centre on Thursday to do our jabs.

She already taking me to Newcastle Tuesday, for perhaps my last pacemaker check at the Freeman. I would sooner go to the Freeman but it's too far now for me to drive. I just hope the Cumberland does timely checks, but it's not what I hear.
She coming back via military road so we'll be having coffee at The Sill. I promise not to look at the fallen gap sycamore.;)

It is dreadful that not everyone has a reliable broadband service. It is so essential to our modern day life now.

We were lucky here as our small village was one of the first places they trialled super fast fibre broadband. At least we were lucky until the lorry demolished a fibre cabinet in the village - luckily not our fibre cabinet.

People that point out my spelling mistakes
Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and ……..insert your own words here.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.1 .

Yesterday unfortunately I was attacked by Mrs J weilding or wielding hair clippers, hair thinning scissors, scissors and a combine harvester or so it seemed, yes she successfully trimmed my hair and beard, with this new look I could almost pass for normal, note the word almost.
Today is spoken for, the words have been uttered by Mrs J and to hear is to obey, must dig out a pair of my motorcycle ear plugs and reclaim my day.

Stay safe all, bring a smile to a strangers face. Now I must go koffy calls loudly.

Have had crocodile once at a restaurant overlooking Sydney harbour. It was actually delicious - much to my surprise.
That's just where I had my first taste of oysters - never to be repeated! Not allergic, just horrible. Tom agreed - it was his first taste as well. That was in 1965. Maybe the restaurants are better now, or perhaps, the oysters. Who knows?

Morning all from L.A. where, much to the delight of our grandchildren, there is a good crop of Autumn strawberries. The soil in the trug is a mix which I used in the raised beds back home not that which is local. @Annb and @dunelm hug for #heatingate. As for wearing extra layers, I refuse to sit indoors or sleep in salopettes and a beaver fur ushanka but each to their own. @JohnEGreen hug for early waking. @Krystyna23040 good news on the fbg and thanks for the doughnut topping compliment. I won't repeat that as I am after crafting cinnamon doughnuts and brownies as two distinct items. I have had crocodile a few times from the butcher/farm shop in Cambs. Like the bison they are reared on site. @lindisfel good of Helen to be so caring . She obviously has her mum's organistional skills to keep you on track :D @dunelm thanks for sharing the art. Bratwurst in bed?
still would like someone to describe what woke is?
Basically love thy neighbour/do as you would be done by. Attached is Wikipedia summary.
Y'all have a good day now.

I really love the detail in this, but I am almost having a migraine on your behalf for the fine intricacy in it........ @dunelm

Those are some very bedraggled looking badgers looking for some fun. Thanks for the creative which on first look seems a little downbeat to me but I see something like a Kingfisher in there. @Annb and @Krystyna23040 I like oysters which used to be a poor man's food
In 19th-century Britain, native oysters had actually become a poor man's food. Charles Dickens noted the fact in the Pickwick Papers: 'It's a wery remarkable circumstance, Sir,' said Sam, 'that poverty and oysters always seem to go together. '

Reading about your cinnamon doughnuts and brownies is making me feel hungry.

I didn't realise that you could get crocodile here in the UK. I bet the bison is delicious.
Oldhusrt Cambs - 5 miles from "home" #1 grandson loved seeing all the animals especially the crocs. It has many more animals now. The main man, Andy, has been on TV and in the media. Just having doughnut with my coffee (cream and cinnamon) watching the cricket as well. It's a hard enough life :D
