What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It actually stopped raining during the early hours, but as soon as I stepped outside to go the shop, it hasn't stopped, I'm getting worried (not like me that!!!) that my ark hasn't arrived yet!
No! but I am concerned about my garden being close to a swamp. There is standing water with the standing gulls and pigeons, amongst the rest, on the footie pitches. No footie on them this week! Hopefully it won't impact on the plants.
Still getting the odd drop through the top of the bay. Sleeping arrangements will have to be rearranged from next week.
Chores done, #7 is at gymnastics, #4 playing basketball, #2 game off. Cooking that curry that has been sitting in the fridge. Is it called steeping?

That curry should be good - some things are better after a bit of aging. Cheese for instance, and a curry made a few days ago.

I get 21 Mbps on copper wires. And one can play video and zoom no problem, but it's crying for the moon asking for 100 Mbps when the family come up from York and all of them want to use the internet.

I may have got that figure wrong. I know it was about 8 times what we should be getting.
 
Son #4 brought #7 & #8 around just as I was getting comfy for the footie. The little one was on good play more and it is no wonder I'm losing weight and cracking up. He is a handful, out of all of them, this one is so full of it, he can be described as worse than storm Ciarin!. Devastation abound, takes an hour to get the house back in order. But he is funny! Grandee now! Grandee, then points. Won't let you sit down, demanding,
#7 loving her two hours of gymnastics this morning and is happy doing the moves and poses! Impressive!

Curry was nice! I enjoyed it, the odd drip coming through, garden very wet, just drizzling now. Could do with a couple of dry days to get rid of the foliage and the fireworks!
Sounds like the barrage has started early on the estate.

Got me feet up now.

Now to go and see how the animals are getting on with all this noise. The badger couldn't care less last year. But the fox was frightened. Midnight couldn't care less, nor Jade. But not sure about the other stray cats. I'll go and see who has taken refuge in the kitchen...

Carlisle have a good firework display every year in the Park near the River Eden. Not heard anybody quibble about the expense as yet.

Early start today. I want all the food prep out of the way as early as possible for visitors this afternoon. Just have a wholemeal loaf to bake now and that's it all done other than putting together some salads which I'll do after lunchtime. Turns out that the "oatmeal" lady won't be coming - she's been in hospital and is keeping close to home for a few weeks. Everyone else will just have to put up with the high oat content of today's baking. In fact I don't think that the first thing you would think of when tasting the baking, is oats.

It's been raining a bit but it looks as though it might be bright between showers and it is a bit warmer than it has been - not that I've put my nose outside the door yet, nor, probably, will I later. Too busy.

Apparently the Home Secretary has said that being homeless is a lifestyle choice - possibly she only meant for some people but it does indicate her attitude towards the difficulties many people face these days. These are the people "we" (collectively) have chosen to represent and govern us!

BG at 4 am was 10.8 and then up by 5 am to 11.3. Back to 10.6 now. Must have some breakfast soon and some more tea. Oxy Sat started out at 83% but has climbed now to 93%.

Wet windy and cold here in Normandy. We have started lighting the fire in the day now. No need to worry about wood supply this year, MrSlim estimates we have four years supply. Am not sure about that as it's going down surprisingly fast. Maybe two years.
Have now found someone to come and care for Kiki who is we are away, so no excuse to cancel now.
Since MrSlims Aunt cut off contact we are neither of us much inclined to visit the uk. Somehow it has become hard work.

A winner for the care and love you put into feeding your guests. Your oats are doing them a bit of good. I think the Home Secretary is being kept on as it’s wise to keep your enemy close and the ball she has her eye on is not one that is good for the country.

Families can be difficult. My mum reports that in just the past week, the floodplain fields along the Cherente are now filled with rainwater - they are having a very wet autumn.

The day will progress with little surprises and neither of us know what today will bring. I do love a free and easy day, made all the easier as I made soup yesterday and a Moroccan Taktouka - a sort of warm salad thing with tomatoes, green peppers and spices. Thickening soups and gravy, well what about Kombu - we use it quite a lot in Asian cooking and as seasoning but have not thought about it as a soup/gravy thickener. Will give it a go. Art bit, some trees on a gloomy and wet day. Hope your Sunday is kind to you. I now need koffy and to wonder if Mrs Miggins will beat the 10am threshold of sleeping.

Morning all on a bright, warm day - in Kolkata. Happy birthday Virat. Here in this High Town :hilarious: as the signs say, it is a bright but damp start to light up the sky with Standard fireworks day.
