What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this with snow coming and freezing rain, we have a acquired an ice rink in the back garden.
-3 at noon, so no festive operations again today.
#5, #7 and #8 are hanging around the house, up to no good, must go, house full, and Mrs L wants a cuppa, don't we all?
My best wishes to you all as always.

Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty start here in the dark and dangerous north. I have been given a sign for today. It’s in the form of a big pile of boxes and bags decanted from the attic and into the dining room. I may be required to perform some health and safety advice later on and may even be asked to get one foot on the ladder - bit late for me though. I have heard that plugging all your festive light strings into one long extension and then wiring back the appropriate circuit breaker gives you an extra source of heat :arghh:. Luckily ours are all fancy LED’s and very environmentally friendly - just like electric cars - pass me some new batteries Elon. Art bit, a splash of colour added. I shall be using my bamboo ink dippers today. Not used them before so will be interesting to see how I get on with them. Hope your day contains some peace and joy. Best finish my koffy.

Peaceful...
Have fun with those decorations...

6.0 fbg.
We went to our new vet's open day this morning and had a tour around their very impressive facilities.

A much nicer option than walking in the rain around NT parkland and they provided some really good coffee and cake. Mr K enjoyed the cake and we met so many people we know there. So a very enjoyable morning.

We are so lucky to now have a really good independent vet in our village and especially good that she has looked after our dogs when she worked at our previous vets.

Wildlife nighttime video
Badger on swing - a contortionist badger
He is on that swing again and messing it up...
1 min 14 secs

Creative is a an old hawthorn tree I drew with the Pentel Brush pen
Midnight is bird watching from my bedroom door...

I have been hanging door curtains...

Time for a nap

And strawberries & cream for a treat for hanging those door curtains...

Wet and horrid outside but the tiny birds don't seem to care, there are lots of them cheerfully feeding and one is keeping a lookout...

Have your best day...

I'd say, just to add, if you're able to get blood tests done, try adding your B12, if you don't already know it.

Seems that until 60 we get and metabolise sufficient to keep us in a good place, but 60+ and especially those with T2D & taking Metformin, it begins to ebb.

See the B movie under my signature for a "murder she wrote" type of movie about just how many ways a lack of B 12 can impact young & old alike.

Found out mine was close to bottom of range 200-900.

A few months of sublingual B12 got that back to mid 300's.
B12 is ok and Hab1c is slightly up at 43

I love the tree @gennepher. Strawberries and cream - a delicious treat for hanging those curtains.

My Libre alarm just went off - it's been quiet all day but now it tells me my BG is going too high again. I really don't understand why I have these days when it just won't seem to stay down. I had a cooked breakfast of sausage (high meat content), bacon and eggs around 1000. Dosed for that. Had already dosed to get BG down from 14+ to 8+ but it went back up into the 10's so I took enough to deal with food plus the higher BG. All settled down at least to under 10. Now it's on the way up again for no apparent reason. I know it does this from time to time, so I don't know why I'm even commenting. I supposed I'm just annoyed at myself for doing practically nothing all day. I had intended to reorganise a few things in my bedroom and to put some washing in the machine and then to settle down to do some writing (3 stories on the go and none of them anywhere near finished). But all I've done is empty the dishwasher and fit a couple of big pans into it - not even starting it up until there is a bit more in it. Lazy, lazy, Lazy!

Hug for the balancing act

Great news on the speedy deliver of wheelchair. bargain too.

I think it might have been @muddycyclist. (Hope all is well with him )
Who said he didn't keep a "To do list "
He kept a "Got done list"

A much more satisfying list.

A thing from a work project, was to fill a jar with rocks & sand

That was the working day.

Some days it's the big rocks we move, other days it's the sand that fills our day.

Priorities, aren't always the big things.

All of its important in its own little way .

Patience & pace.

Hard to learn, but worth remembering, I think as we naturally slow.

Good luck getting it all to your liking, but all in good time, i say.
