What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sunak, and the other ministers, ex ministers, who are pushed onto our screens are the 'front' of the tories.
They are the puppets of the power behind the 'front'!
This can be the only reason they troll out the lies they tell.
The racists and bigots, the gammons that spout the vile tropes behind them.
Would be to much for any reasonable person.
Never mind the minority ethnic groups.
The power is far right wing, which is why centrist tories have gone.
And this means that Farage is far worse for any decent person.

As for reform limited company. These are the tories that are not wanted cos they are fascists, neo nazis in disguise.

Dr death, aptly named, has ripped the country a new one, he really doesn't care, he is made for life. And will soon be heading out with his fortune, to warmer climes. I hope he doesn't enjoy it!
He should be in nick!

Although not religious, I'm praying that it is all over for them all.
Do not forget the tories are all in compliance with the state of this country, every last one of them.
Couldn't resist - sorry mate:D

Before the war when Oswald’s lot were parading around showing off their fascist ways my father joined the young communists not because he was a communist but because it gave him the opportunity to knock a few fascist teeth out.

Your Sunday sounds wonderful. I'm so glad to read that. Really only the ceiling stains so far but the insurance company should deal with that and perhaps a few other incidentals. I've just read this and now feel quite sorry for Rishi and perhaps a little for Pritti and Suella. Seems to have nailed the hypocrisy within this Faragist iteration of the Blue Team.
Thank you @ianpspurs.
The article was really well written. A very interesting article.

Oh no @JohnEGreen

Evening all.
Blood sugars this morning were…..I can’t remember, oh well, what a pity, never mind.

I don’t do politics, but do sympathise with the sentiments contained in the phrase
“ come the revolution they will the first stood against the wall and shot “

Hope you all had a great day.

I think at the basic reason why we need to get did of this lot of thieves and thugs.
It is the money in your pocket, what you pay, where it goes and what is left after the bills are paid.
At the start of this century, I would(without looking) about 30% went on necessary bills.
It is now around 50-60% depending on mortgage and utilities.
So that percentage now goes to banks of in the case of utilities, huge power and energy companies, privatised water, huge technology companies and the like.
Then there is your food or clothing.
The majority of the population now purchase their shopping from the huge supermarket chains.
And in particular certain huge food producing multinational corporations.

There is very little of your income that goes to the smaller shops and companies now.
And it has been planned and supported by this government under direction from these multinationals.
And the majority of the profits of all this is going abroard.

So this is one of the reasons why the economy is flatlining.
Not enough of our income is going back into the economy, far too much isn't!

The very rich (multinationals, owners, shareholders and banks) are taking us for idiots.
And those in charge, have their noses in the trough, and didn't do nothing much to ease the burden we have faced, due to this reason.

Stop the tories.

Returning home just after 9.00 pm on a warm, Saturday evening, we had been treated to a display of wildlife activity. The hedgehog sighting was particularly special for me. Some 20 years ago, we lost our hogs, song thrushes, toads and frogs all at around the same time, presumed poisoned by pesticides. Near neighbours chopped down a beautiful yew tree and that did for the mistle thrushes too.

Now the hedgehogs have returned, ditto toads and frogs. Only the thrushes have yet to roost here again although goldfinch numbers have risen steadily and blackcaps are now regular visitors. Given half a chance wildlife thrives. Nature can recover in the most remarkable ways.

Nature can recover in the most remarkable ways.

Yet, we have allowed our natural world and climate to reach near breaking point. Almost half of our UK wildlife is in decline and some of our best-loved species like the red squirrel is at risk of extinction. As the climate emergency intensifies, the threat to life on earth becomes ever greater.

We know we need to stop burning fossil fuels, but we must also recognise the role of nature in helping us turn the tide. Nature has extraordinary powers to lock up carbon dioxide, to provide clean air and water, to help protect us from flooding and extreme weather and provide food. Bringing back precious salt marshes for instance and reintroducing beavers our natural water engineers. We need re-wilding on an ambitious scale to combat climate change.

It's not too late to halt climate chaos, but we need to act now to protect the planet for future generations;

What a day yesterday was.
MrSlim went to one of our friends yesterday to help out with some home maintenance. She told him our house is live on the internet for sale and that her sister, who found the post, was distressed to think that we were going back to UK.
It wasn't an appropriate time to phone the sister so we checked out the posting. House looks good. Description waxes lyrical... we hadn't expected it to go live so soon. Funnily enough MrSlim and I had been discussing the need to get everywhere tidy and clean so as to be ready for any viewings, but had both of us deferred that in favour of work in the garden. It was a beautiful day. Shorts were worn. Several loads of laundry washed and dried. Raspberries and blackcurrants ready for harvesting.
The robins have fledged, so I can reclaim my potting shed, return all the tools and store the new pots along with the new super duper potting table we bought yesterday. MrSlim had just started on this when we had a call from the agent. Can he bring some people to view the house? In twenty minutes!
Mad dash tidy up. They came and looked. I don't think they will offer, but if they do we have already seen a house we both want... to view at least.
Phoned my friend and explained our situation. Turns out she is also thinking to downsize which is how she came to see the house posted. That is useful information because I have insisted that the town where she lives should not be more than a thirty minutes drive from any possible house. So we might have to reconsider location. Although fortunately it seems we are both going to be looking in roughly the same area.
Not sure how I will tell Mum and the rest if the family though. Mum said several times how settled we were. It felt like lying to conceal the we are possibly moving. But we know that houses here can be very slow to sell.
Now it's a waiting game.

Picking raspberries later I am wondering if I should be filling the freezer or eating everything that's in it?

7.0 at 02.45 today. Not too bad considering that I'd gone to bed at 24.40Monday with BG of 8.3. Not a very long night even though I was very tired - I was so late because I'd just sat down after turning off PC and TV and dozed off in the chair for a bit less than an hour and was very dozy feeling so just went out like a light when I hit the pillow. So a total of 21/2 hours. Snatched another hour after my cup of tea. Cold has improved and I have a bit more energy than of late so might be able to do something useful today.

Morning all. Fbg here a known unknown but overall state of health an unknown, unknown - know what I mean? Day two of #heatingandhotwatergate may well be all over in time for afternoon tea overlooking the (second best) croquet lawn:D @SlimLizzy exciting times for you and Mr Slim but testament to just what an amazing job you have both done. I now know more about moving a large organisation's supply chain to net zero than I wanted to know as I've spent the morning editing an MSc thesis on that. Y'all know just how much I enjoy science but this is more economics imho. No wonder Nige and the backwoodsmen want to deny, deny, deny. Have a great day but mind your carbon journey :D

Last night it was dark and I needed something from the potting shed. Well...it was all go...first I thought I saw a lactating vixen (never seen her before) and she melted back into the shadows.
Got my thing from the potting shed, locked up, and I am aware of a big beastie landing on my back. I am trying to get it off but I can't reach it. Jade is demanding supper. Midnight is watching from the bungalow doorway coming to the conclusion I have gone doolally. Finally I get this beastie off my back. It lands on the ground. It is panicking. Jade is already wriggling her bottom ready to pounce.. I scoop the thing up in my hand, not knowing what I am scooping up. It is dark.
It is the biggest moth I have ever set eyes on. Its wingspan was wider than my hand width. It was still panicking and couldn't get on its little feet. I put it on the garden table, but it appears to panic more, and was rolling over and over.
I was fearing at this point that I had hurt it trying to get it off my back. I sat down on the garden chair and held it with both hands to try and examine if I had hurt it. Its wings were fluttering so fast it was a blur, but it appeared unable to fly at this minute, and had no balance.
I wondered if I had knocked it off a branch while it was still sleeping. Finally it got a grip with its little feet on the palm of my hand and looked at me for a good minute, but its wings were a total blur. I got my phone out of my pocket, and put it on nightsight, but by this time the moth is marching determinedly up my arm.
Quickly I picked it off and placed it on some comfrey next to me.
It had obviously got its bearings by now, and was able to grab a stick, and still looked at me. I managed one photo, before it determinedly grabbed my fingers again, marching up my arm to my shoulder, and then took flight. It was just a complete blur in flight...

And Jade was still asking for her supper...

It was about 11pm by now.

Google tells me it is a Poplar Hawkmoth.

Here is my photo in the thumbnail, click and it will enlarge, all you will see is a cute hairy face, the wings are a total blur but you can just make out the wing on the right in the photo. If you don't like flying beasties then don't click on it!

Note to self...wait until morning next time. I haven't looked at last night's video yet to see if the vixen appeared on it...will do that today...

Nighttime wildlife video from a couple of nights ago.
Badger rocks swing a lot & Cat Midnight is very displeased and has no intention of letting that badger drive him off the swing!!!

Creative...I keep putting my black drawing pens down in strange places that I cannot find my pen...so this morning I was using a black English fountain pen for this sketch with a fine nib. Immediately I started drawing in my English way of drawing , so to speak...oh well..I need to go on a black pen search today...

Time for a nap...been awake since 4:30 am...

And another cup of tea of course...

Have your best day...

You certainly have some adventures with wildlife @gennepher. Thank you for the tale of a spooky night, the image of a moth (not something I ever thought I'd type) and another amazing creative. Being very dissolute it is time for the morning coffee and keto Californian Blueberry muffin here. :woot:
