What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.8 this morning.
On the latest wound dressing at the doctors the nurse demtermined that after the 9 months of dragging myself over to the surgery twice a week the wound is no better but no worse and took the fatalistic view that this is going to be a more or less permanent feature of my life depressing if I accept that view so have decided to take control of the situation and do things my way not sure what that way is going to be but I am not going to accept the less than positive view that the nurse has.
 
While you're clearly still seeking another way of treating it, I LOVE that ruthless determined attitude.

Kiki is taking full advantage of the changes and now insists on her right to sleep with us. As we are reluctant to allow damage to our friends property we had to give in at the first scratching of doors.
She is still confined to indoors and not happy about that either and has not yet met our friends cat. An event we are not looking forward to, suspecting that Kiki will be aggressive towards the other cat.
If we go ahead the house purchase will be finalised on 10th feb. But I am horrified at how much the house condition has deteriorated since we last visited. MrSlim says it is superficial, but to me looks like a lot of extra work.
Keep well and warm all of you, as best as you can. Will pop in now and again and try to catch up now that things are a little less fraught.

I shall enjoy the rest of my koffy and then make up a couple of flasks for our outing.

I wouldn't accept that fatalistic view either @JohnEGreen

There just has to be another way, but what, I haven't a clue.

Praying for you that a way can be found to improve, ideally heal, the wound through a combination of doing things your own way plus the surgery's facilities and open mindedness to new ways. One hopes they would be willing to work with you because Ecclesiastes 4:12 makes so much more sense.

Pretty cold out. Windscreen was iced up...

Retreated to under my blankets when I got back home...and I had a long nap....

Hug for both of you continuing to be under the weather but glad, at least that you are both a bit better. Kiki must be finding it all a bit strange and wanting to sleep with you might be a comfort for her. Perhaps, once she is in her own space again she will be more independent again. Take care and be good to yourselves while you wait and recover.

Great attitude John. There must be an alternative way that your nurse/team hasn't thought of, or are aware of. The wound is yours and you can't accept defeat.

Does this mean that Mrs M has her birthday today, or have I missed it and she has only just received her bus pass? Congratulations to her either way. Enjoy the bus ride. Is it a birthday treat?

Thank you for sharing those wonderful kaleidoscopes in such a clever manner. Staying under blankets and having a long nap sounds like a splendid plan. Obviously even more splendid with tea.

Ah, @alf_Josiah - you can get a bus pass four weeks in advance of the magic starting gate to grey hair and sensible shoes. The Whitlestop Cafe at the station was good for koffy and using facilities but the call of The Duke of York pub at the bottom of the 199 steps was too much.

I used to like while tinkering with the bikes through the ages I've had them, how many of those i thought more 'staid' gents would pause & once aware the interruption wasn't a real issue would happily tell me of their own bike ownership & adventures
(exactly what bike ownership is, to me )
& I suspect reliving a moment or two none of their friends really understands or wants to listen to
..soon to be my default position I suspect

So scary aging bikers mmhh ...surprisingly salt of the earth if people let go of the stereo & the typewriter .

Enjoy the bus ride. Thank you for sharing the wonderful art which is very reminiscent of the Fen Washes of my home village on which Fen Skating championships were sometimes held. No ice cricket in my lifetime. Seeing that fitted nicely (in my mind) with this piece I had just read despite my, shall we say mild scepticism, around (almost) all things science and psychology. They had me at Joni M's name in the headline and mention of Blue at the end sealed the deal. Enjoy Saturday but if you can't have a trouble free day identify the bear and the roaring sea accurately. Carbs aren't the deadliest creature in the jungle.

Every day is a birthday with Mrs Miggins @Annb but the official one is probably in February according to rumours spread by her twin sister.
