What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are totally confused with life.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.8 grrr

Now if nobody minds I think I will bang my head against a brick wall over this run of low blood sugars. Due my mix of medication and body chemistry I need a fasting blood sugar level between 5.5 and 7.0 to feel comfortable and able to function.

It’s a strange and wonderful world, to be embraced at every opportunity.

Fbg 6.7

I was watching the night sky last night and the stars were absolutely amazing.

About 5 am this morning I went out with my cup of tea and the moon was shining with no clouds, not a cloud in the sky. Went back in to get my phone camera...came back...and the moon is covered in clouds...

Waited a bit, until there were very few clouds in the photo, but the Pixel brought out clouds I couldn't even see round the moon. There was an adjuster at the side of the screen where I could slide it down and get rid of most of the clouds. But then I liked the colourful clouds that the pixel nighttime setting brought out. So I left them in...then I put it in Procreate app and added a few stars that the phone camera did not pick up...

So this is my creative for today....

Have your best kind of day...

Take care...

Stunning.

Morning all. Odd/quirky/honest post incoming. @gennepher and @dunelm thank you both for sharing your wonderful creative talents. Both pieces are wonderful, thank you. @gennepher yours made me reflect on the use of the word amazing, thank you. The actual sky and stars have limited impact on my affective domain. Not totally "meh" but pretty much and your point is? As I've said before that ??? was left on the bench during my assembly. The fact they exist, man can't make them and their "point" (I don't think they are random) is what is amazing to me. @dunelm thank you for the trees. I had no idea they were birches and that again is, in my mind (world view?), secondary to the fact there are there in the first place and provide the attached. That is far more amazing and interesting to me. I also expect a bear or other source of meat to emerge suddenly and someone to take advantage of the bounty to provide so many of life's essentials. I love the idea a proper hunter would, in sincere gratitude, thank the animal for all they will now provide, therefore cherishing every part of the animal. That is not what man the consumer does habitually, which is my/our fault, not God's. Where I think you see colour, shape and (I think) beauty, I see a different kind of wonder. I wonder first why they exist, then if and how I/we can use them..Completely baffled by how sport fits into that, I'll work on that. Odd enough for y'all? Y'all have a good day now, I'm trying to work out how I can use mine: I know how to use the tea, salmon and salad and who to thank for them - no, not (just) Amazon and Ocado.
How, why and who covers it mate.

In all of creation, it is a reason to wonder. And to behold. To enjoy. And marvel.
Why do you need to know more?

6.4.
A very busy day again. Mrs L can be sometimes reluctant to be accomodating.
But as you are aware, I can only do what I can in the circumstances.
Or, it is what it is!

if you remember,my last job was doing quite a lot of washing.
it has come to light, that one of my son's has remembered.
I am now the bagwash grandad.
have to go, juggling kitchen and laundry duties. And big shop arriving anytime soon.

Help!

We are all different as you say. I mostly don't marvel at creation as something to look at per se. I'm more that's all very nice but how and why does it exist and how should I relate to that?. I'm about to eat my salmon salad and I'm content with my answers to those issues around that: it was created by a loving God for my pleasure and benefit. There's no real mystery there, its what God does: always has, always will.

One for you @gennepher

Welsh GP service (twitter)

Twitter won't let me in @jjraak. It has locked me out of my account saying no user of that name. Yet I exist because others say I am still there, daughter says I am still on it, and that people are trying to contact me, but I cannot get on it.
So, unfortunately I have no idea what your link is about....

I'm sorry!
but I can't agree with you @SlimLizzy.

I eat a lot of salad vegetables. But there is no way I could put any and all that you have listed anywhere near my face. I never have and never will.
I find them disgusting.
I hope you enjoy the fresh ones when you can. Yuk!
Agree to disagree @Lamont D we find many frozen vegetables are not nice, or even acceptable. But some are.

No FBG for the forseeable future unless I can find a different meter. Somewhere amongst our possessions. Unused for several years, is that likely? Would it still be operational if found? And then I would need to buy test strips for it. The outrageous cost of which caused me to abandon it in favour of the Tee2.
MrSlim continues to cough, less frequently, but still sufficient to warrant caution in social contact.
I think I am better. Well nearly anyway, although the headache persists.
Kiki is taking full advantage of the changes and now insists on her right to sleep with us. As we are reluctant to allow damage to our friends property we had to give in at the first scratching of doors.
She is still confined to indoors and not happy about that either and has not yet met our friends cat. An event we are not looking forward to, suspecting that Kiki will be aggressive towards the other cat.
If we go ahead the house purchase will be finalised on 10th feb. But I am horrified at how much the house condition has deteriorated since we last visited. MrSlim says it is superficial, but to me looks like a lot of extra work.
Keep well and warm all of you, as best as you can. Will pop in now and again and try to catch up now that things are a little less fraught.

Good morning everyone on another splendid start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Walking into town yesterday and saw a flying saucer of a cloud - a single lenticular cloud. Neither of us could recollect having seen one before. Radiator bleeding day as well. All done and the boiler given a going over - checking pressure and vacuuming out build up of dust. Mrs Miggins received her bus pass and is now officially a pensioner with all the perks that such an esteemed position comes with. Probably not a lot but then there are a great many people who don’t survive this very short period called life to reach such dizzy heights. Excitedly, we are going to Whitby on the bus so that she can experience to luxury of a free journey! The trip takes about an hour and is on a very pretty route on the moors road - the elevated position of being on a bus enhances the views/ Art bit - a winter sketch. Hope your day is good to you. I shall enjoy the rest of my koffy and then make up a couple of flasks for our outing.

Oh dear @SlimLizzy
So so much going on

Would the reading even be worth anything given how much stress & anxiety you're under ?

I found, as I think others have, sometimes as bad as T2D is, at some moment in time it's wise to discard the concerns over the yapping of a Yorkshire terrier nearby in the woods, and focus on the the roar of a lion directly ahead.

Once we navigate safely away from the path of the immediate threat then we can attend once more to any others.

A ying & Yang with Kiki

I quite liked when our cat slept with us
However if it's not for you you'll have a hard time discouraging Kiki once she's got used to it

And no replacement for an outdoor cats freedom, but I presume you've considered a cat lead...tho how successful it might be isn't clear

Good to hear you're both improving

Best wishes with sale.
Hoping everything goes well after too .

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, I am too much of a gentleman to pry and suggest it is Mrs Miggin’s birthday, but I shall wish you both a good trip to Whitby. Can I suggest you lunch at the station cafe, just avoid the ageing bikers that frequent the establishment.

Blood sugars earlier this morning were a safe 5.6, much much better than the run of lows I have been getting recently.

Today here in Tilehurst Towers part of my day is spoken for and part unknown. I am sure Mrs J will come to my rescue.

Now I must depart to fix the toaster.

As our ex colonists say “ have a nice day “

A good way of seeing life @dunelm .

Hope the bus ride is everything Mrs miggins expected

Liking the winter landscape, tho I will admit to seeing a beach shoreline...was that the intention ?

Morning team T2D discupters.

Not a moan but some days it's been harder to find the best in every day.

Yesterday was on where I can say it was a good day .

I got asked so many times when being "tested" or "examined" about my hobbies

To be honest the answer was none ....at first

No piano, no fishing, no golf .....

But the the idea came "it's what I do that relaxes me "... -ish

I loved riding the bikes.
And if I wasn't riding , I was looking for bits the bikes 'needed' and fitting them or just plain servicing & tinkering away to my hearts content .

Something I've done since my first bike at 17.

So, I give that now as my answer, so that's the loss of enjoyment I miss most .

This was happiness back then

A simple enough job, "just dismantle rear of bike." ..can you guess how much I miss it .lol

But I'm a determined ______ (insert your word of choice..it's ok, I've called myself MUCH worse...lol)

So with the hand strapped up I managed to change a bulb or two. (Yehaww)

And doing all I can realistically do .(Way, no honestly WAY less than I've ever done pre test)
I popped the car in for it's MOT

Fully expect the "Yeah mate, it's the plasma drive core, needs replacing ...oh and windscreen wipers are scrap. Can do it by next week and with a big discount it's around £££....right, we'll see you then "

It only passed....yaba dabba doo ...

Pity party is it's been a week of very early and just early starts for me...I ain't a natural unnaturally irritating 'Morning Person's

So I was so looking forward to a loooong lie in.

But nope

Mr brain has thought of a 101 things I should worry about rather than blissfully snoozing :banghead:

But at least the cars good for another year .

Ooh hadn't though of the bus ride being @dunelm
"It's on me love" birthday present... ;)

As to the venue, no idea.
As to aging bikers ..:hilarious:

I used to like while tinkering with the bikes through the ages I've had them, how many of those i thought more 'staid' gents would pause & once aware the interruption wasn't a real issue would happily tell me of their own bike ownership & adventures
(exactly what bike ownership is, to me )
& I suspect reliving a moment or two none of their friends really understands or wants to listen to
..soon to be my default position I suspect

So scary aging bikers mmhh ...surprisingly salt of the earth if people let go of the stereo & the typewriter .

Go well @alf_Josiah
The long days ARE coming.

Morning all correspondents of the Testing Times and those for whom this sums up things well:

where the greater malady is fixed,
The lesser is scarce felt. Thou ’dst shun a bear,
But if thy flight lay toward the roaring sea,
Thou ’dst meet the bear i’ th’ mouth. (King Lear)

. @alf_Josiah good news on the fbg being in a range you need. @SlimLizzy hugs for yourself, Mr Slim and Kiki along with thoughts/wishes/prayers for the house purchase and Mr Slim's assessment of the work needed. @dunelm are we to conclude that today is Mrs Miggins' birthday? Enjoy the bus ride. Thank you for sharing the wonderful art which is very reminiscent of the Fen Washes of my home village on which Fen Skating championships were sometimes held. No ice cricket in my lifetime. Seeing that fitted nicely (in my mind) with this piece I had just read despite my, shall we say mild scepticism, around (almost) all things science and psychology. They had me at Joni M's name in the headline and mention of Blue at the end sealed the deal. Enjoy Saturday but if you can't have a trouble free day identify the bear and the roaring sea accurately. Carbs aren't the deadliest creature in the jungle.

A fascinating article @ianpspurs

Read some or similar regarding Alzheimer's etc.

Makes perfect sense to me

Who hasn't been taken back to a previous time hearing a sing come on the radio

And not just the memory of that moment, but the feeling, the emotion, even the weather hot cold raining ..it all gets unlocked

Interesting about the pain aspect
I hadn't considered that.

I did find whenever I felt overwhelmed by the tide of anxiety, a short while listening to my playlists with Alexa soothes & eases the screeching in my head from all the competing worries & concerns

A worth read, thank you for posting it
