Cutting out people to save wages and replacing with tech or FAQ’s where nothing on offer seems to satisfy the actual issue. The biggest joke is that we now have computers and AI asking us to prove that we are not robots.

Morning all on a sunny but frosty start to Candlemas here. @dunelm thank you for sharing today's art which is very much what this part of The Brecks usually looks like sans any uplands or valleys but definitely grey and run down. You asked what has happened to our country? We may live here but it isn't ours unless we too went to certain schools and Oxbridge. 2008 provided an opportunity for some distasteful views, truthfully never far below the surface, to be used as an excuse for their disaster and a way to re-exert control of "the narrative." The electorate here duly voted for Brexit and Johnson, Nige is trending, in the US of A they voted Trump (twice) - what did anyone expect? I strongly suspect you ain't seen nothing yet. Anyhow, enjoy the pre-birthday gatbering? and many happy returns for tomorrow to Mrs Miggins. Be sure to hasten to the garage for a 40000 candle torch and some flowers, perhaps even a Fredo - she must have enough aprons by now. Lamb shoulder here today with #3 son, partner and two children - chickens and poxes included. We stopped off on the way home from Ely yesterday and a nice butcher boned and rolled the piece we chose. He bagged up the bones for JKP to use as a trivet, then for gravy making and finally share with our dogs - once we have given them an H and S check. Obviously not heaven or a solution to all the world's issues but that'll do me for now. Last day of Christmas, Lent starts March 5th. Enjoy your Sunday

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this late morning were 6.1

I didn’t crawl out of my pit till 10:05 am, a very rare event for me in Tilehurst Towers, which at the moment is basking in the sun.
Whatever plans and schemes I had for today have been put on hold and may have to wait till next Thursday, the next 3 days are spoken for.
Delaying my plans and schemes till Thursday will have to rely on me remember them, it is no good me writing them down I would only forget where I would put the paper I wrote them on.

Now I must go, it is time for my afternoon nap, I don’t want to late for that.

Thank you @ianpspurs and for the timely reminder of the up market delights and special treats available 24/7 at all good local garage forecourts. No aprons tomorrow or even ironing board covers which are traditionally given at Christmas. Lunch out though and a special addition set of Eamon Andrews’ Crackajack episodes from Colouring My Past. Lamb sounds like a marvel.
 
That Minnie (Spellcheck gave that iPad it's name) took all night so I had to camp out in the front room, because it was on my desk and I could see from the couch, through half closed eyes, every time it was having a little hiccup and wanted some help from me, a decision to be made, or password put in etc.

I did not take my FBG this morning, my HRV was already a bit too high, So no sense in wasting a glucose strip when there's nothing I can do about it if it's a higher reading...

Basically I had no sleep except I was dozing and then looking at the iPad dozing and looking at the iPad.

I have a question and everyone I've asked so far can't answer it, and the stuff I brought up online...well, I can't agree with it.

My question is after the cataract op, I had not thought of this question before, after the cataract op what do I do about the right lens that was over my right eye in my glasses? Do I push the lens out? For that right eye. Because according to pre-op, the nurse who spoke to me, my right eye will be perfect for long distance and I will not need glasses for long distance, I will only need glasses for close up for that right eye.

But my question is I can't wear my current glasses for 8 weeks or however long that. Is before you can get new glasses because that lens over the the right eye is going to be completely distorted for my brand new cataract eye looking through it.

I've got my words in a twist trying to explain this to other people. I'm trying again now but I'm not succeeding very well.

There is no advice online that specifically mentions any of this except carry on wearing your current glasses. Your same glasses it'll be fine. Well that is not fine to me because now I presumably have a perfect eye. I know it would take a few days to adjust or something, but I will then be able to see properly and I'm not wearing distorted lenses over it for 8 weeks, before I can get new glasses.

Any help for me on this?

12.2 this morning, so I thoroughly suspect my liver is uncooperatively dumping glycogen into my system. Let's hope it soon stops!
I'm still not feeling on top form. My eyes are really dry and gritty, on top of the aches and pains and general malaise. It's a fine line between taking it easy and being thoroughly lazy...
 
6.1 in the early hours; up to 8.2 for no apparent reason at another early hour, then back to where it was; now 7.6. Had a really bad night - about half an hour of sleep altogether, jittery heart, really painful left leg, hip and shoulder plus I think the l/c loaf I bought must have had something in it that I shouldn't eat because the effects was pretty painful and unpleasant. Can't see what that might have been from the list of ingredients. Been dozing on and off all day and only just took the pills I should have taken this morning.

Our ferries are cancelled again until Tuesday because of the weather but as far as I can tell, it's pretty calm and bright sunshine. Cold, of course, but that may just be me, huddled here in my big jumper and a shawl with blanket to hand just in case (I used that during the night to try to ease the pains in my legs with some warmth even though the radiators were on).

Ah well. Onwards and upwards. Hope the day is treating you all well.

Yes, they haven't thought it though properly and it isn't working. All they are thinking of is how to save money not how they can help us.

I agree that it is a joke that we have to prove that we are not robots.

I think that what I would do if I was in the same situation is to take the lens out of the glasses @gennepher

I have several pairs of glasses which are almost the same prescription and I will have a look at them to see which is the easiest one to actually take the glass out....

It depends on what type of frame you have. Mine are all lightweight metal ones and they push out quite easily - even fall out without help sometimes. Heavier frames might take a bit more force, but what goes in must come out.

Most of my glasses are thin metal frames. As you say @Annb the lenses come out very easily themselves

I would have to ask if they would do that.
My thought was, since I have been told to wear sunglasses religiously to protect that new cataract eye, was that I would wear some old sunglasses I still have, (before I started getting prescription sunglasses) over my glasses, when I had pushed the lens out.
I'll have to see what is possible.
