What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from the future.

An anticipated journey full of nooks & crannies of exasperation came to pass as predicted.

More to do with being unaware of just what lay ahead.

Gatwick nice and smooth with the special assistance.

Doha, not so much

Doha airport seems the size of a city, no way I could traverse even a portion of it on foot.

So cue special assistance for one plane load circa 6 teams in the special Olympics

One wheel chair ...and they're off
Up the long old air walkway, then into deserts bends , onto the Oasis straights, through the sheik chicane before culminating in the lift dash half mile.

So picture 5 individuals with particular needs & partners frantically trying to catch up with the qatari Hussein bolt, ( who to be fair did accept the handicap of pushing the wheelchair, likely with terrified passenger not quite expecting the Disney rollercoaster ride so early on, )
who took gold in a world record time getting to the lift (singular) that whisked us into the airport proper.

Then an infuriating wait for seats on a buggy, that then turned into an infuriating wait ON the seats on the buggy, while waiting for another flight group to arrive, all while the clock was ticking away on our departure time.

Finally in what seemed like a film chase from a futuristic sci fi movie we drove at pace through a near deserted part of the airport, beneath the indoor train, through duty free to the gates.

Where we made out flight in decent time, thankfully.

Flights themselves were great, decent films, but I still lose interest too soon and didn't finish one, sadly

A few power naps. (Ok, I nodded off, ok ..come on people, I'm a new age old age pensioner in two weeks...lol
)

And before we knew it.....india beckoned in all its majesty.

Cue videos of Lauren of Arabia, sari style, bollywood meets Hollywood, swishing through the airport exit gates, with me in tow on the crutch, following our taxi driver as we headed into the heat of Maharashtra State ...

Fbg 6.4 on this rather chill but sunny morning.
The lung function test at Kings Mill went reasonably well but did find it a bit trying and the dressing and INR test was at the doctors was OK but INR was a bit on the low side was asked did I miss a dose answer no oh did you follow the diary sheet answer yes got a slight sense of disbelief then it was oh are you sure you were following the right diary sheet answer yes then got oh you couldn’t of been answer well I was.
During the lung function test I received a phone call about my diabetic eye test asking if I had booked it yet which I must admit I had neglected to do but will when I get the chance the person seemed to want to carry on the conversation but I pointed out that I was in the diagnostic lab in the hospital under going yeasts and terminated the call.
Managed to get some co-codamol so was able to have a better nights sleep and am booked in to see the clinical nurse tomorrow to discuss the pains I have been getting in my left abdominal area up into my lower rib cage specially at night did this because the nurse who does the dressing can book appointments with the clinical nurse but not a doctor.
@jjraak have a good holiday mate a few years ago Adrian used the compo from his accident to spend about a couple of months back packing around India he had a great time hope you do too.

Fbg 6.6

I was putting an eyedrop into my new cataract eye...
Bullseye I thought....
Splat, on to my glasses...

Badgers Thor and Willow on the trail camera, and Finn the Fox as well, and cats Merlin and Amy....
Merlin seems quite comfortable with the badgers and the fox.
This is the second part of this particular night. The first part was last night, although I did not label it as so. The third part is tomorrow.

Creative... I was drawing the base of an oak tree, on my iPad, but then I fell asleep, sitting on the warm side of the window, and when I woke up, there were all these spidery lines on the paper, so I made them into branches.... and then I played with some colour.....

Night night time for bed, sweet dreams....

After years of squirting stuff into my eyes I have learned that a half reclined position works for me. Left hand to pry the eyelids open and look straight into the abyss of the dropper. Then, close the eye over the nasty stuff and lightly rub the eyelid. Even so, I invariably over squirt the stuff - what fun! Love the colours in this art piece.

6.2 this morning. Very pleased with that reading.
Classes went well yesterday. Was a little bit tired but on the whole was OK. Luckily there was a good long break before the evening classes which spent at the lovely pub over the road. I had sea bream, lots of coffee and relaxed and read.

you were being very kind to your doctor who perhaps should differentiate between “should be”, “ought to be” (in books) and “my body does it’s own thing” (in practice).

Well that all sounds fun and games - what some folk do instead of going to the gym :arghh:. Hope your holiday gives you both a boost.

Good morning everyone on a splendidly quiet and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.8 this a.m.
A trip yesterday which involved watching Mrs Miggins testing the efficacy of sofas in several emporiums. “Anything in particular that you are looking for”, one person asked me. “Not really”, I replied, “I’m not the one looking for a sofa as mine is perfectly serviceable”. - I can’t sit on most of these things as they are mainly too low and act upon me like some medieval instrument of torture. Anyhow - there are now two candidates on Mrs Miggins’ list of replacements.
A decorator coming this morning to eye up our hall and staircase whilst sucking teeth and scratching chin. The staircase wall is too much of a challenge for us now - it’s two stories high and we have had both our ladders license and circus act certification revoked.
Art bit - a little boat having fun.
Hope your day goes as well as you can let it. I had better bathe in the luxury of some koffy and await the arrival of this decorator who did say that he would call early - ‘Early’ he said - I have been up since 5am and not a sign of him - ‘early’ indeed ;)
Footnote - here comes the rain again, as predicted by Annie Lennox.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, if you wake up then it is a good morning. Here endeth today’s distorted view on life from Tilehurst Towers.

My blood sugars this morning were 5.1

Have a great holiday @jjraak and any others that holidaying.

Later this morning I have get suited and booted, hair and beard combed, attempting to look smart. I have a funeral to attend. A close friend died, she was a wonderful character, had a wicked sense of humour and an answer for everything. A shining example of how to extract the most fun out of any situation.

Stay safe all.

I tried for years to put drops into my eyes, with very little success and now use sprays - the only way I can get anything into my eyes. Getting my arms into the position to put drops into my eyes has been an impossibility for a long, long time and now, with the dodgy left hand, I couldn't bring it into service to hold the eye open. So I use a spray for dry eye (Optrex) and am hoping that a new spray I have ordered for blepharitis will work when it comes.

It is difficult at times...I am sort of bent over forwards, so difficult to get in right position...these eye drop bottles are so solid and stiff, I need a pair of pliers...
Thank you for the pic compliment @dunelm

I had one of those staircase walls in my last house, only it was four storeys high. I gave my 3 kids pots of paint ( yellows, oranges, reds, greens)(the previous owner had put up black wallpaper in this massive hallway and stairway - it was a little depressive ), long poles, sponges, rollers, and brushes, and told my three kids to have fun, no input from me...some neighbour's kids joined in...a lot of paint splatting took place....
It was very good when they had finished, very tasteful... and the only job I ever asked them to do that they willingly did.
I did have to replace the stair carpet though... but that was easy. I bought loads of offcuts from the local carpet shop....
Fortunately, no one took up skydiving down that heckishly high stairwell...
I did consider putting up safety nets at each floor level...

Impressive cliffs @dunelm

Great idea

A late congratulations on what sounds like s marvelous birthday @Lamont D

Man hugs for the slide into calls & appointments for Mrs L.

But it's all to the good, I'd say keep in mind when it gets a little to much, the aim is to give Mrs L the most appropriate treatments & make life the best for you both at this juncture in time.

A hard slog but at least you are getting some help.

All the best mate.
Thanks @jjraak I have a lot on but it does need sorting, new meds this morning. Faffing about with tablets etc.

But hoping it will improve things.
Cheers mate. Always glad to read your thoughts.

What a kerfuffle mate.
try and enjoy it, and hopefully you can become an old codger and celebrate it in the style you deserve.

While we were at the hospital yesterday Judith had a phone call from her manager who informed her that she had leave that she had not taken and that it has to be used by the beginning of April it was 111 hours so that means she is now off work till the first of April one happy girl I can tell you Judith said she could feel all the anxiety and pressure just fall away her job can be quite stressful at times.
So we have to think of some fun things to do in the next few weeks.
