Good morning all. My fbs today was 11.1. Not good but GP agreed at yesterday's appointment that leaving off my Dapagliflozin until my next HbA1c was a good idea. I had a text early this morning cancelling today's phone appointment from Urology so I have a free afternoon to go wherever my sore foot will allow me to. Hoping that an appointment with Dermatology will come soon. It will be 9 weeks tomorrow since my biopsies. My best wishes to you all for today. :)
Hope you can get out into some sunshine

Good morning everyone on a splendidly quiet and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous North.
5.8 this a.m.
Stuff getting in the way lately. Well, pushing things down the list.
Batch cooking with The Girl In The Bubble after Mrs Miggins collected her from school. Five portions each of bolognaise sauce and chicken with rice - her go to meals. Her dad did approving taste tests when he picked her up to go home - what a fuss pop she is and only 5 years old. After, she “taught” me her latest game; rock, paper, scissors. I played dumb and amazed - difficult multi tasking facial expressions. Then welly boots on to help Mrs Miggins water the gardens.
No idea yet for today. The washing is on the line and I need to visit the post office. But apart from that.
Art bit - spilled some ink and it went from there - a doodle.
Hope your day goes well. You only get one shot at it so hope you fully inhabit it. Now where is that koffy.
Thank you for sharing the creative and tale of time with TGIB. Seems to me that Kismet/The Universe/God/whatever has ordered your priorities perfectly. Time with grandchildren is so precious: for everything else there is (whatever payment method you prefer.) Take care and slap that factor 90 on :playful:

The Art bit looks very arachnid-like. Shudder! Life is fun with a 5 year-old, isn't it? Exhausting, but fun.

9 weeks is a long time to wait for that result, especially when your foot is so sore. Why isn't there a sympathy emoji?

Thank you@Annb for your kind words. I have inquired several times but been told an appointment letter will be sent in the post. I seem to have spent so much of my time this year chasing up results from one "ology" or another! :)

11.6 at 04.00 today. Fair amount of insulin before breakfast and it has actually come down to 7.5 now. That's a bit better.

Bright today but a bit on the chilly side. Alistair came in early to report no post because there's fog in Glasgow preventing the plane from taking off. Glasgow is pretty miserable in the fog, so I feel sorry for folk living there.

Too hot again today. No promised thunderstorms arrived.

Got fans and water misters going…

I could only manage one shop to get some essentials.

Quite a few shoppers were finding it too much, pushing their trolleys. I was finding it hard to push my walker with a small bit of shopping in it....one passerby helped me.

By this time, loads of car alarms in the car park were going off for no reason...presumably the heat...and then more urgent car horns when people were backing out of spaces without realising another car was behind them. By then, I just wanted to get home. It was so hot there was a haze in the air, a kind of shimmer, which made it hard for me to do a drawing for tonight...and I almost gave up.

The stray cats hadn’t come earlier, before I went out, and I tried again calling them for food… not one of them will step into the bungalow during this hot spell.

It’s nearly midnight and I’ve just gone out again to check that the water bowls are still full. Then I realised one of my windows was setting off the alarm...no one near it. So I had to turn that alarm off from inside. So I assume the heat was setting it up....

Creative is a drawing… a quick sketch on my phone
of one of the tired shoppers walking past my car.

Night night

Sweet dreams…

By the way, I will try and post a part two of the wildlife video and my next post if I can, my Internet was too slow tonight, I kept getting time out....

Interesting spiders...they look like the harvester spiders in my bathroom....who do the whirligigs each time I walk in.... @dunelm

Hope all goes well and you are reassured by the oncologist today @JohnEGreen. Tougts and prayers with you.

Thanks Ian but unfortunately no it seems it may only be a matter of months but these things are not always a matter of certainty and chemo may help prolong my life though I think I may have to fight for chemo as they keep painting the darkest picture almost as though they don’t seem to think it cost effective they are however going to do another scan to see what is happening as yet I am not showing any major symptoms we shall see. One day at a time really that’s all any of us have.

Yesterday our road was shut off by the police due to a major gas leak down the road from us with houses evacuated to a local community centre ambulances and fire brigade in attendance the work to deal with it went on for many hours. I have been told a construction worker ruptured a gas main.

Sorry to hear that John. Prayers for your comfort and for your access to chemo, as well as for your lovely family. Surely it must be good that you are not showing major symptoms yet.

Dare I say it...
Too hot
So I drew two things that are helping me to keep cool.
A Summer Scarf Necktie Cooler Bandana
And ...
A cooling towel can let your neck or head feel cold within seconds...

I have a necktie round my neck, round my wrists, round my ankles. And the cooling tower (towel, spell check is being naughty again) around my head.

Each of these has been soaked in water rung out a tiny little bit.... and applied to the various parts of my body.

My daughter in Australia sent me the blue necktie about 10 years ago and it still works okay it still soaks water...

So this is my creative today and it is all I am capable of doing... and sleeping......

Another cup of tea is welcome this time of afternoon..
Take care...

That sounds dreadfully hot @gennepher. Here in Norfolk it is beautifully sunny but there is a cool breeze blowing from the North Sea.
