What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

29.05
7.45am FBG 5.9was feeling really awful yesterday, tired and dizzy. Went to bed when i got home. MrSlim produced dinner, but I couldn't eat it. Not feeling great this morning but need to drive to a nearby town to get Hba1c test. Stupidly forgot about fasting and had breakfast yesterday. So two trips instead of one.
I do use arnica cream, and a wound healing cream that contains honey. But the medications just don't seem to do anything. Although I have only bought a couple.
Edited to add: didn't post this when written and went back to bed been there nearly all day, definitely not fit to drive .
Friday tomorrow, market day and am expecting visitors, will need to be up and getting on with stuff in the morning.
MrSlim is very pleased with progress today, our new helping hand has done sterling work and will return to continue tomorrow.
Take care @SlimLizzy
I hope you improve quickly....

Had two eggs scrambled with butter and a cup of coffee
Expecting visitors so made shortbread and no bake chocolate Tiffin - although that wont have three hours to set, so started it off with 30mins in the freezer.
The Helpful Handyman is back today and getting on with stripping the leanto shed roof. In order to replace it. A job that MrSlim has far higher on his list than it is on mine. So it works. MrSlim is still working on what I consider more important tasks, while getting a few others off his list.
Still feeling a bit weak and shaky and inclined to break out in a sweat after climbing the stairs. As a result might mot attempt a trip to the market, even though it is right outside my door.

Hug for feeling weak and shaky. Thank you for sharing the wonderful photo of what I assume is the market. Is the florist you mentioned the other day the building with the splendid display above the door? Good news on the Helpful Handyman.

The site is still not working properly. Taking ages to go from page to page as well as to get onto the site at all. Then, although it did show SlimLizzy's lovely picture, it soon blanked it out. This is the only site I'm, having problems with, so it isn't my PC at fault.

Anyway, while it will let me:

BG at 03.25 was 7.5. It was 7.8 when I went to be at 24.30 so that's pretty stable.

Should have been my "ladies who pray and lunch" today but something went wrong elsewhere and they couldn't come. Now I have to persuade Alistair to take a litre of soup and some rolls home with him, when he comes with the mail.

Yes, it definitely isn't your PC. I am having problems with the site also @Annb

My creative for today...white scented roses.

I had to do some business at a local town, so a bit of travelling...but it was too hot for me.

The bank lady said it was far too close for comfort.

I had difficulty walking on the High Street even with my walker, and had to stop at several cafés for several cups of tea...

I was glad to get home and fell asleep for the next few hours, but I was still uncomfortable and my ankles were still swollen.

Got my Chi Machine out, put it on the couch bed and set it for 15 minutes. It didn't feel long enough. I wanted longer, but I haven't used it in about four months so.....

The swelling in my ankles has gone down, I was now breathing much more easily. I am definitely going back to using that daily again...

Making a cuppa tea now...

Take care...

Indeed it is @ianpspurs and today I had an unexpected delivery from them. I like that relatives have now patronized both the florists in town on my behalf - no favouritism here

The greatest surprise was the flowers were from my youngest brother, who has almost never remembered my birthday

These white roses are beautiful, are they also scented? @gennepher

Alistair took the soup and the rolls. That leaves me with a big pot of c**k-a-leekie soup, which is just as well because I went to the dentist this afternoon to see what could be done about my cracked dental plate. It is to be repaired but I can't get it back until next Wednesday so it's soup, soup and more soup for the next few days. Ridiculously, in my opinion, had I decided to have a new plate made, it would take 4 months because they no longer have their false teeth made on the Island, they send the impressions away to the mainland. Repairs are still done by the dental technician who used to make them. 4 months!

I shall be staying indoors, out of everyone's sight until Wednesday, or wearing a mask. I'm not exactly great looking at the best of times, with all the scars from various cancerous growths on my face, but that and no teeth! I never thought I would be vain, but I find that I am.

Or maybe I just don't want to scare the children.

The children won't notice anything like that...
You don't need to hide, not even behind a mask...

I made a cat mask at the beginning of Covid and lockdowns, and that amused people @Annb

I have some similar in red and they too are heavily scented with long lasting flowers. Maybe because they are closer to the original wild roses? My other more highly bred roses some have perfume, others only a faint trace of it, but all of them need the dead flowers cutting off at least every other day. The simple red rose seems to last for weeks and smells heavenly.

Just following on from the rose photo.
This is part of my back garden.
I think I have had good fortune with my efforts.

On more serious things.
Mrs L has been to the hospital twice after a doctor came out to see her.
Her ankles have swollen, Mrs L has had a scan and blood tests.
The response to the call out has been fabulous and Mrs L has been on antibiotics for three days.
Don't believe that the change in meds is working and all this is side effects.
Her scan and bloods were okay.
We have a specialist from the mental health team calling Monday and I'm concerned.

Also on Monday is #7 9th birthday. First of the eight, and another seven plus adults from now to new year.
The Yorkie gang came over to here cos of half term. It has been too long .
#8 has given everyone a smooth nose and a dry throat. I have sneezing, it hurts my stupid neck.
I'm not aware of I can't remember it must be catching. But my middle son, now works for a cancer charity.
And yes, he was invited to the buck house party for cancer charities.
And one of the butlers on duty, came from around here. And kept topping up the champagne flutes in his hand.
We Scousers are very good at looking after those in need.
There has been an underground movement, for years about declaring independence from Wales and the English!
Ha!
I did have family in Liverpool, when the car hit the people. So many questions?
Over a million people on the routes, and under lockdown for over an hour. No transport out of the city and nowhere to go. The tunnels were still open but the traffic restrictions were strict.
I'm ok, but mentally tired.
The weather for the kids half term has not been as worse as the weather forecasters have said. Around four pm this afternoon. It was like a summers day. Very warm. With no wind.
Once again, I am so busy not to reply to posts and the site is playing silly buggers, getting on line.
I will be back. Ha!
My best to each and everyone.

Couldn't get into the site first thing. Restarted my phone and it was fine.
Best wishes to you and MrsL
