What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from the relative coolness of the morning here in Birmingham.
45 minute delay on flight home - interesting watching reactions from fellow passengers. Some getting all het up and wasting energy on something completely out of their control. Others, drawn back towards duty free like Pinocchio visiting Pleasure Island.
Anyhow, arrived in Birmingham, a glass of Merlot and a bit of supper to end the day.
Present - surrounded by three grandchildren round the breakfast table, all wanting to know stuff and all at the same time - what fun!
Hope your day is in tune with today’s dance through it. We are human beings not human doings.
Is there koffy in this house??

So hot today... the app promised 26°C. I was going out shopping this morning but by the time I got from the bungalow to the car, I was already sweating too much so I turned round and came back in. I will have to hope tomorrow is cooler....

Too hot here today and I have hardly done anything, except sleep quite a bit....

For my creative here is another encaustic painting find...

Going to lock up now and feed the cats...

I hope you have a good evening....

Thank you @dunelm

Alas we were promised 26°C today.... and the day he didn't disappoint and I was wiped out....
It was warm but just over 21 degrees here maybe the wind was more cooler here and later this afternoon drag and thick cloud didn't help.
According to the mental health practitioner on her visit this dinnertime, the respite will happen next week. But hopefully Monday or Tuesday.
Took Mrs L to the nearby shops this morning, it was a bit of an order or else, to be fair, Mrs L behaved and find go OTT at all. We shared a bacon and sausage nudger. (No nudger for me!)
7.5 this morning before nudgerless bacon and sausage.
Best wishes.

5.8 this morning.
Thought I ought to posr now as I will be non-stop teaching until 6pm tonight. It isn't as bad as it sounds as I love teaching all the classes and the 1:1s I have crammed into my lunch break.

Only one more week and I have 4 glorious weeks off work.

No idea if mine is in range.
@jjraak my D3 levels were extremely low. My theory is that fighting a long standing infection had used it all up as one of the functions of vitamin D3 is to support the immune system.
Also it is a vitamin stored in fat, of which I have very little.
Now my daily pill is essential.

Ahhh coffee. Garden is soaking wet after all the rain in the last week, but a sunny morning tempted me out there to check on the damage. Clematis has been ripped from the wall, so MrSlim put in a couple of hooks for me to the it to.
Yesterday was market day. I slept late, nearly to 8 o'clock but that didn't matter as no visitors expected. Sat down at the laptop to research bins, need a specific size to fit in available space, startled by doorbell. Eek visitors! Am still in pyjamas and MrSlim is still in bed. Embarrassing all round. Most Fridays I have homemade cakes or biscuits ready for any callers by 10am, but not yesterday.
Friend phoned, they are bringing some friends of theirs to visit. Double Eek.
MrSlim is grumbling about interrupted work schedule.
Later get message from Son2 - he and new American wife will be here 21st to 25th. So now just over three weeks to get ready. Mission impossible

7.8 this morning - as a result of stress

I don't post much but I do try to read from time to time to keep up with how yous are all doing?

Hugs to everyone who needs them (me too) I am going in for a colonoscopy in a few weeks and I am terrified at the thought of it - have any of yous had this procedure and please tell me it wasn't as bad as you thought it was going to be? xx

I've had a few colonoscopies. They have always given me a sedative first so that I can relax completely and, being me, I usually doze happily throughout. The last time, I went to sleep completely. So much so that I slept right through a fire alarm during which the theatre had to be evacuated and only woke up as they were finishing off after they got back in. It was no more than a bit uncomfortable on occasions. As a bonus, on the first occasion, they did find some malignant polyps which they cut out, saving any chance of them developing into anything dangerous.

6.5 at 04.20 today.

Still recovering from all the effort that I put into making cupcakes for my friends' wedding reception on Friday. I was so knocked out that I couldn't go to the reception (they were married in Macao and came home to hold a reception here). And I'd bought myself a new outfit for the occasion too!

I've now developed pain in my neck and ear with a slight swelling in my neck. I guess it's some kind of glandular infection. Must be what used to be called "run down".

Thanks for taking the time to reply Ann - much appreciated I will defo be having some sedation & pain relief - I am over anxious about the whole thing and having white coat syndrome and a fear of hospitals isn't helping my situation x

Being tense won't help the experience but to be honest, I'd have a colonoscopy any day, rather than an endoscopy. I've had both a few times, and survived with no damage done. Just let the sedative take over. The doctor won't try to hurt you, in fact, will do his/her best not to. Honestly, the worst part of a colonoscopy is taking the rather unpleasant drink and getting your bowel cleared out ready for the procedure. That bit I don't enjoy.

7.7 and a dry different day today Mrs L has been having a bed rest.
So I've been relaxing until the #4, #6 and #7 persuaded myself to go the footie friendly this afternoon. I enjoyed getting out and seeing some old friends but the game wasn't my clubs best.

Just making plans to get some packing done for Mrs L, just in case.
A late tea now.

I too have had the camera both ends, the endoscopy discovered the helicobactor pylori, but the other didn't find anything. The waiting and drink is the worst part of it all.
I had the local anaesthesia for my endoscopy and watched it all on the screen as the doctor described it all. I was out for tother one.
I was surprised by the amount I got rid of!
Best wishes

Fbg 6.3 for Saturday

Much cooler today...
Much better for me...

I was doing something else, hence I forgot today's post, I have caught up with it now...

Creative is a kaleidoscope, but I have combined the original painting and made the Kaleidoscope from and the kaleidoscope. This is from a large watercolour painting that I did a long time ago...

Night night

Sweet Dreams

10.1 at 04.20 today.

Chilly today. Back into the lightweight jumpers now. High cloud so it's fairly bright but no sun breaking through yet.

Had a letter from the DWP to bring me the fantastic news that, later this month after I am 80, I will be getting an extra 25p a week on my State Pension. I knew about it already, of course but I wonder why they bother. A whole £1 a month! It must cost more than that to administer the process. It probably cost about 3 months' worth to send out the letter. It is derisory and probably insulting but, being me, I refuse to be offended. It doesn't make any difference to me - not that I am well off, but I can manage. To others, I can imagine it could be quite hurtful. If it was enough even to buy an bottle of milk, or a loaf of bread, it might be less hurtful, but to buy that extra bottle of milk here*, one would have to save up for nearly 2 months at 25p a week.
EDIT: *That is a 2 litre bottle, which is what I buy when I do buy milk.
