What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on an exquisitely quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.3 this a.m.
Mum had a wonderful time in Paris at the Hockney exhibition which was housed in the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Worth a look if you like his art.

The grandchildren from Birmingham will be here at around noon. Staying for a few days while mum and day go walking in The Peak District. So, it’s buckets and spades and dig out the feathers and whistles to do The Sun Dance, kid!

Art bit - Ink using a glass dip pen and a squirt of water.

I hope any loads today will be lighter. Best make some koffy and get back to my book; The Incredible Unlikeliness of Being by Alice Roberts.

5.5 this morning. At last am down to 9st 7 1/2 lbs. Just half a pound to go before I get to my target.

Just waiting for sister to arrive for the afternoon of admin. I think she will be starting end of year accounts. I will be updating my 1:1s lesson plans with the new info I will be teaching then in September.I

Doing now when I have the time is so good.

Having a wee dose of carbs, especially if accompanied by a smidge of protein, an hour or so before bed will give your internal chemical factory something to do as you sleep. A small cracker spread with peanut butter, a bit of egg mayo - whatever you like. But small. For some folks this helps when the dawn glugogen outpouring begins as you wake. I have heard that a few pistachio nuts is the latest fad.
I've heard this too, especially about pistachios, but I've also come across advice saying minimise evening carbs. Neither approach seems to affect my fasting BG. I do sleep better if I eat a bedtime snack though.

Good evening all.
Sorry no blood sugar readings.
Good evening, Alf. Good to see you here.

I did take my BG this morning, but I've forgotten it. I do remember that it was high though.

Done nothing today - Yesterday I found some more stuff to go through, still looking for paperwork and jewellery, and found a box of papers and a basket full as well. Both big and heavy. I got them out of their hiding place with some difficulty, went through them and put them away again. That was a painful lesson in how weak my muscles have become. That put me out of action for the rest of yesterday and for most of today. I could have asked Neil to help me, but was stubborn and determined to do it for myself. Got my just desserts for being too proud to ask. Very sore and very weary. And I still haven't found the things I'm looking for.

I came here all those years ago looking for companions on my journey with T2 and found much, much more. Peace be with you all.
100% agree.

So many on here have unselfishly passed a little something of themselves that aided me in some way.

And as you so rightly say, with more than one snake in the jungle, some of iit wasn't strictly T2D related, but oh so useful & gratefully received regardless.

I think it's a testament to all, how much each of us offers another, and sometimes it's just in the sharing of a few words, finding comfort in anothers or simply finding your voice being heard.

What a joy this thread has been.
So much to commend it and it's denizens.

Respect.

Brilliant painting @dunelm I love the detail of the tree in the glass dip pen...

Good morning everyone on another full on day here in the dark and dangerous north.

Skate park yesterday. The grandchildren’s scooters are now at their limit for height adjustment so that’s their Christmas list sorted out.
Today it is down through the woods with buckets and spades and onto the beach. Ice cream has been mentioned with intense discussions on flavour choices that may or may not change as the morning progresses.
Spag Bol has been requested for dinner so will need to get that on the go. I will be Bol sans Spag for me with some greens on the side.
Art bit - a lazy bit of ink.
Hope your day gives you at least one smile. Best finish this koffy, I have a sofrito to sort out.
