What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

8.3 at 05.00 today. I know why that is, but I'm not telling you.

The sun has come up and it is reflecting a bright red on the white walls of the house over the road, there's some high cloud also reflecting the sun, so it's red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning. To add to the picture, there's also a rainbow. It's beautiful, but I'll bet it'll be raining in a bit.

Em is 13 today. I intended to make a cake for her yesterday but I was exhausted after going to see the podiatrist (at least I can get my socks on without catching my nails on them) so I've been making it this morning. It's in the oven now and when it is done, I'll be able to go and have my shower. Lemon drizzle is ready to go on so I'm doing not too badly. Just about to have my 2nd cup of coffee.

Soo stiff and sore this morning, but that was because of the effort I had to make yesterday - no parking spaces within 1/4 mile of the surgery so Neil had to drop me outside and go off and find a parking space while I had to wobble in to the surgery - not far but further than I would normally manage. Boy did that hurt! Still, I made it and was quite pleased with myself. Paying for it today. Still, that's the way it goes and it's not unexpected.
Happy birthday to Em.

More painting as rain stopped play, nearly finished the inside of our fence.
and Mrs L wants me to paint new front fence before outside back fence. Which is really confusing because that is different from yesterday and the day before. I had to go and get more paint, Mrs L said Wilkos is best and better value.
DiL took me and I also found a bulb suitable for the bedside lamp, Mrs L 's night light has broken already. Cheap rubbish. #8 went straight to the toys for some reason?
#8 now only a couple of weeks away from morning school and he is now in the why phase of conversation.
Best wishes.

Possibility of visitors this morning is not enough to inspire me to bake in the new oven which is apparently so sensitive that it has to be cleaned with a soft cloth using lukewarm water and mild detergent after every use. It is recommended to clean the oven while it is still hot.
Surely using a damp cloth on a hot oven is a recipe for scalds and burns.
In a different section vinegar and water is suggested.
Wipe after every use, then gently dry with a soft cloth. Is there a single person in the world who will do this? Certainly not me. Meanwhile the unpleasant chemical smell on first heating has not dissipated so i am reluctant to put any food inside.
My new DIL loves cats and took many photos of Kiki.

Which will not load.

5.8 at 05.50 today. Still there.

Momentous day today as I try to put lentils back into my diet after a disastrous diarrhoea attack a few weeks ago. It may, or may not, have been the lentil crackers that did it, it could just have been a bug, but I blamed the lentil crackers and stopped eating them. So, today is the day when I try it again - nothing planned for the next week, so if it happens again there'll be some time to get over it.
