Fbg 6.9 for Friday
The next page in my sketchbook
An acrylic painting.
My day (Friday) is not going as planned...
I went out this morning expecting to be back for 10: 30. Not a hope.
There were traffic works and so I was held up. Finally got to my destination. Check the parking restrictions, tells myself I have to be out within 2 hours to be safe.
Because it was a freezing cold day, it seemed to me that all the disabled spaces were taken up by able bodied people who leap out of their cars. Run into the shop, paid for their goods, run back to the car, And I'm still struggling getting out of the car...
So the point is I had to park rather a long way from the usual disabled spot to be able to go and pick up my parcel and it took me a long time, that extra walking getting the parcel and coming back to my car. I had a couple more specific items to get, then I came home.
And I got caught in a terrible traffic jam on the way home... Road works... I had just got to the traffic light to the roadworks and they went to red. So I'm waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and there's a massive queue behind me and nothing is going through any which way... I could see the traffic on the other side of the traffic lights, and there was a digger in the side road, but they weren't letting us through.... Half an hour later, we are all still waiting, And by this time my head is falling asleep. I thought I can't stay here any longer. I'm going to fall asleep at the traffic lights... Why did I not think of this before? I suppose because no one else did in the queue behind me because I would have seen them in my wing mirror. Do a U-Turn I told myself, Go back the way I came, get some fish from the chippy and then go the country route back home...
I have no idea why no one behind me was doing a U-turn. There's nothing legally to prevent me..... I gave it a couple more minutes and so I did a U-turn. The guy behind me stared and stared at me and then I went past all this long queue of cars... I bought some Whitby fish at the chippy And came back the country route...
I got back for 2:00 p.m. And I was exhausted so I went to bed and went to sleep...
I woke up just as a text came through from the doctor's surgery... From the same Practice Nurse as yesterday who kept phoning and phoning as I was driving. Yesterday I had figured out a way to reply to the text, a facility offered by the surgery, but it was a one-time thing only. They told me I could not do it again. And in it I explained what happened but the diabetic nurse had seen me a week early and told me I did not need to keep this appointment on Thursday.
The text reply from the Practice Nurse insisted that the diabetic nurse had insisted on a re-review and blood test in four weeks time. Well yesterday was only one week from that date and in any case the diabetic nurse wrote down on a piece of paper everything I needed to do which was write a letter in 4 weeks time to her and tell her how I was getting on with the new drug, and to go for a blood test in 4 month's time.
Now this practise nurse is telling me I have to have the blood test in 4 weeks time, and I should have attended the appointment yesterday which was Thursday. But the Thursday, yesterday, was only a week after being given the new medicine.
Again, this was a no reply text. What am I meant to do now because I cannot actually communicate with her. I cannot use the same facility as I used yesterday because it's only allowed me a one-time use to go online and send a message to them. It won't allow me to use it again. I have no idea if or when it resets to allow me to send another message..
This is completely confusing because I have now been given two completely different timelines. I cannot physically use the phone and they did not give me an email or a reply option.
This is causing me stress... I have had a long day and I have done nothing what I really intended to do.
What I have done is written a letter explaining the two instructions contradict each other, and would the surgery confirm in writing which set of instructions I am meant to adhere to?
I will post that around the corner in the post box on Saturday morning...
