Dishonesty lies and thieves and online Bullies!!!
Morning all. Not about much anymore but still popping in when I can. This forum is far to valuable to be ignored!!

So---my fbg is still too high for me. I am 8.6 today. What is going on??? It has been up since just before Christmas when I had a small op. Expected it to go up a bit for a while. Christmas was ok, didn't over indulge, although the mince pie was delicious! But since then I have not had a fbg under 6.5. Was having 4-5 before. Have had a far bit of stress. Grandson has been very poorly but seems better. And my oh was made redundant last week. We are in that awful period of being too old to find more work and too young to retire. But this problem started before that.. Think I might start a please help thread?
@Kentoldlady1 So very glad your grandson is seeing better must be such a worry for all of you, and same scenario for my hubby 4/5 years back, he had worked for same company 24 years then it went out of business workforce got nothing. The stress it caused us is still with me today, but he signed up with Manpower agency and was offered work straight away, he was given a couple of different employers then the one he works for now kept him on for three years on agency then offered him permanent work,he was 59 years of age then, so it is possible Wishing you good luck for your husbands job prospects and a good outcome for your grandson. Best Wishes ! K

7.2 before breakfast. Not sure after taking a bath consider as fasting sugar since i already woke up like 1 hour ago.
Gabrielle...our BGs rise as soon as we start to move about...I try to take mine as soon as I'm up...some take theirs as soon as they wake...before getting out of bed...I haven't managed that yet...my first objective in the morning is to get downstairs...kettle on...brew my coffee...that comes before everything...even testing my BG:).

Dam Karen...again...as @Granny_grump_ says so difficult to avoid coughs & colds...I haven't had the kids here since last Autumn so have managed to avoid picking up anything too drastic so far (its usually them who pass it onto me)...lets hope you get some respite soon...at least its the weekend...hopefully you're not working...no...cold medications won't help...but...what can you do?
@karen8967 @Bubbsie Do you remember Karen's posting of a woman worse for wear recently, could be a solution to the cold remedies, at least she would feel better! K Haha!

People whose attitude says "Me, my opinion, my desire is greater and more important than anyone else"

And to whom the principle of ahimsa is a closed book that they refuse to open because it would make life more difficult for them.
A very reasonable 5.1 at 6.45 a.m.

My new humalog pen should be here soon; I had to buy my own because my diabetic nurse won't prescribe a half dose humalog pen for me as they're only for children. I'm funding my own (again!) as I value the control that half-units give me. Oddly, I got a Novopen Echo on prescription for basal and that does half units. Very strange.

Is there an actual time frame for new pen syringes? My old humalog pen has been in use for about 6 years now and I suppose that's why it's falling apart. I'm gonna miss it; old friend used several times a day for many years!

Also the shop here asked me if I have a VAT certificate. I don't know what that is. Any ideas?

5.8 at 8:30 After a very sinful yesterday but did burn 2000 calories at fitness and ate 3000 calories of which 350’grams were carbs (was 7.4 right before sleep) so I feared a very high number this morning ..but fitness seems to pay off

After almost 2 weeks, what turned out to be Tonsillitis is finally subsiding. All 6 of us at home have been down with it, has been horrendous. mostly been surviving on Milk, and eggs as anything else to difficult to swallow.

5.2@0730

Have kept good control for the whole time, thankfully.
