@ziggy_w sorry forgot to add hope your soon feeling better, and thanks again for the information! KHello all. Blood sugars this morning were 4.9. Still suffering from a cold, which unfortunately has gotten worse. Felt too weak to exercise yesterday, but haven't eaten since 5:30 p.m.
@Granny_grump_ -- I agree with @geefull. It is best to have something available when you feel a sweet snack attack coming on. I usually have either have a low-carb cake or low-carb chocolate mousse prepared (most have somewhere from 1g to 5g of carbs per 100g. Yesterday, I also made my own caramel-coated pecans (caramel prepared with erythritol and cream). So, I am not tempted by something much worse. If you are not so much into baking, high cocoa-content chocolate also works. The one I prefer has 85% cocoa content with 16g of carbs per 100g. So, even if I get carried away and eat half of the 80g bar, it is only about 7g of carbs. On my glucometer, this hardly makes a bump. Of course, there are also the savory go-to snacks such as cheese, nuts, pork rinds, and olives.
@ianpspurs -- I have seen my fasting glucose go up by about half a mmol to one mmol in the last year -- so obviously a bit worried about this. It seems this sometimes happen when you have a low-carb or ketogenic diet and is called adaptive glucose sparing. I found this an interesting read https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/fasting-blood-glucose-higher.
@HarrisonK -- Brilliant progress with your fasting levels, they are coming down quickly.
@ziggy_w cannot shut my head off when I get to bed,and once I wake that's it I have to get upHi @Granny_grump_
You are up early today. Hope everything is going well. Usually the Lindt 85% or 90% chocolate is quite good, though definitely not as sweet as regular chocolate.
@Goonergal 5.1 this morning. One meal yesterday, 12 gms carb, woke early as usual with very low carb, fbg back to where it was Sunday but not yet back to Friday and Saturday levels. I blame stress of Harry's ankle!Morning all. 5.3 today - 23/1 fast, less protein, better sleep and FBG up. More evidence of the peculiarities of diabetes.
Try a few almonds or sultanas. I know they've got a lot of sugar but they work!! You can ask my sisterThis morning I am 6.6, my lowest to date.
Now I need to tackle the constipation that LCHF seems to bring
Well done! KThis morning I am 6.6, my lowest to date.

Hi SueJB I love them but I've developed a lot of allergies and nuts are one of them but thank you! KTry a few almonds or sultanas. I know they've got a lot of sugar but they work!! You can ask my sister
@SueJB I enjoy your sojourn with The Madam. Can long term conditions be anphropomorphic? Anyhow, philosophy aside, I reckon there is an element of stressing about your fbg in this and visualising lower numbers will solve it. Either that or go full on Trump and lie shamelessly!I wouldn't say I'm angry with her just rather irritated that she won't go down to 4s or 5s
I was given 6.3 this morning
