They do encourage people to take their own containers. Re deli meat the branch near us can't tell me carb content but Waitrose in town are happy to so I wouldn't buy from deli counter. With IP, M's meaty bones are also unbelievably cheap and effective - we could probably get enough meat for a meal for 2 costing £2.50. They also deliver from warehouses not branches - ours comes from Milton Keynes which is 50+ miles away and our son, in Suffolk, had a delivery from Ipswich, 44 miles away. Last bit of advertising, we found if we shop online they randomly throw in free gifts and offers e.g. a leg of lamb for £7 - most supermarkets can't spoil lamb. They also sell rolls of crackling to roast yourself - always think of @Goonergal when I see those ( we have some roasting atm)
I usd to love a pasty from the local baker is possible on my many visits. I have never used lo dough but wondered if you could make a type of pasty because the filling isnt really that much of a problem. What do you think?Ooh yum to crackling. No idea where the nearest Morrisons is to us though.
I’m lucky in our Cornish village - the local butcher is excellent and has his own beef cattle kept just 2 miles away, pork and lamb are also from local farms and the abbatoir is less than 10 miles away. Also bones are free!
He also makes his own delicious pasties and pies which are now, sadly, a distant memory. Mr C seems to be keeping him in business there though by popping in for one most days.
Lucky with the local butcher, guys here have twigged very quickly about bone broth so no freebies. This is a big arable area - grain barons - so few local livestock. We can get Buffalo, ostrich and crocodile reared locally - you can see them. Beef will not be grass reared round here but will be advertised as so and will have all fat trimmed so effectively paying a premium for cardboard. We do have a good butcher in the village who will order me a 4 rib joint with plenty of marbling every now and again but at a cost (£140+ - still less than a Copas turkey which in IMHO is the biggest con ever)Ooh yum to crackling. Yes You are correct. I have been running out of ideas to be honest. The warning of the Endo last week that if I go up to HBA1c of 48 I will go on insulin immediately is still ringing in my ears and I am so determined not to let that happen.@PenguinMum Eating little and going hungry to lower bg levels can carry a real sting in the tail for relationship with food. I would use a very long spoon when supping with that particular Devil
@Ziggy2017 Good luck with coat delivery. Some posters are feeling the cold so you may need it. Is mustard this autumn's colour? @PenguinMum why insulin at that level doesn't seem outrageously high? Higher than one might want but insulin high?Morning all slept better last night only woke once feeling hypo but I was ok BG was 4.9 today’s BG is 4.8 I got my coat sent back on Friday since I needed a 12 rather than a 10 I ordered it in store on next day delivery 7pm was the cut off time but it should be here today or tomorrow at the latest

You are such a good daughter @geefull. Personally, I'd buy a new freezer and pay a local kid to walk the dogs. If you knew me you would say, "typical"Intending to defrost the freezer in the shed at mum's today, it needs doing after the warm weather, so off we go with our 'cool boxes' and blankets ready to do battle.

Its because I had a distal pancretectomy n 2012 and they maintain I have only 50% pancreas functionality though I would expect more tests to be done before determining I need insulin. I have been asking if my op had any bearing on my Diabetes but it still came as a bit of a shock to me because none of my HCPs even my consulant didnt know this and it was he who referred me to the endoc.Yes You are correct.
