What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Your grand father too. Life. Full of ups and downs. My daughter has faced adversity on more than one occasion. She has great inner strength. I'm extremely proud of her.

Have a lovely time

Your story brought a tear to my eye x

4.9 bg and ketones at 1.7 all of which is good especially as reintroduced low carb bread yesterday - the hi lo version which I toasted from frozen to hopefully make the carbs more resistant! Ate two slices in total much enjoyed and thankfully no damage to ketone level or bgs.
I think to keep going I have to have a few things in my diet that are a bit carby -like my LC puddings - but that I don’t react to -and stop me going off the rails. I’ve now been in ketosis for more than a year ( 13 months!) (highest ketones were 7 in early days and now often 1 - 2 with lowest ever one week at 0.8 - still above the 0.5 needed for official ketosis) plus my recent insulin resistance test was very low normal so hoping to experiment a bit more with a few carbs over time. It’s all individual though working out what works - or not - for you.
@Debandez lovely story - sad but uplifting too. Especially poignant that your mums death was diabetes related like it has for others on this thread it’s put a whole new spin on the John Lewis ad!
Post gone a bit long - apologies got sidetracked have a good day all it’s Friday .....

Your posts are always so helpful. Great levels all around for you. I bet you threw a couple of slices of thick back bacon in that toasted bread! Oh how I miss a bacon butty haha. Well done. Looking forward to hearing the results of your experiments. I wish I knew then what I know now about t2d I could have helped my dear mum. Never apologise for long posts. I for one LOVE them (as you know haha).

good morning all

4.7 today

not looking too bad this morning outside which is good because we're taking mum's little dog for her pre -winter haircut and claw trim today before it gets too cold
Trying a new place to take her today as it's easier to get to, we'll take mum along and then we can have lunch out whilst Suzie is in being 'beautified'

Hope your day is treating you well

Lovely sending big hugs

Flippin heck, what a lovely story it had this hairyarsed spark in tears, I'm glad the mrs was still at work when I read it.

Do you think that your kids ever realize the hardships and sacrifices that you make as loving parents, maybe when they have their own they might. Thank you for the wonderful tale anyway @Debandez

Is the John Lewis Elton John ad on YouTube? I would like to watch it.

@SueJB have a lovely time in Amsterdam. I'm hoping to visit the Netherlands someday. My mother's maternal grandparents came to America from Zuid-Holland.

I don't think they do, but I don't think I ever appreciated my mum and dad's sacrifices until I had children of my own. I'm glad you got something from me sharing. That in itself makes me so happy. My hubby always blames that on dust, going in his eyes! I have him sussed.
