Morning All. 6.2 at 0800. Fasted through choice yesterday no appetite so think I am fighting some sort of bug.....felt exhausted and out of sorts....would explain staying high all day last few days.
@DJC3 sorry your chimney leak stillnot fixed. My roofer turned up suddenly start of week and said he would do one third of the job the bit he thinks most likely to be cause. However water still trickling into the bowl....hope yours turns up before Xmas.
@ianpspurs have a safe and good journey to Southampton.
Have a good Thursday everyone. Stay safe well and hypo free.

Morning all 5.0 this morning
Pilates this morning - so looking forward to it will be good to have a good stretch.
@ianpspurs hope your day goes well we used to do lots of one day cross country trips to family because of time constraints but these days prefer to stay over at least one night - there’s only so much motorway I can bear in one day! Let’s hope it’s all straightforward for you and you have a lovely day with your family.

Oh no, what a pain re your roof leak. I think the only thing I can do is pop into Wilko and buy up their stock of washing up bowls to leave strategically placed. I’m going to need all my saucepans.
I hope you’re not coming down with some horrible lurgy just before Christmas, can you take it easy today?

@DJC3 at least our leak is into the loft above the extension..my husband can just about squeeze into the space lol. Good luck with yours...I think every roofer everywhere is super busy mine said he had 17 more calls like mine. Thanks for the kind wishes and also thanks @shelley262 for yours. Today not too bad. I have a mamogram in Tesco car park soon (if I can bear it..I have turned up everytime since 50 but usually find it too painful to go through with it but this year because of my dear friend I am going to try harder). I need to be well by weekend as said friend coming to us for Christmas and cant expose her to any risk. She has been through so much already.

Morning everyone! Hope you're all good! 1 more day at work, and after that.. Happy Time!!
6.3 this morning. It seems that the morning levels are hovering between 6.1 to 6.3. And yet the levels I am seeing before meals and after meals are hovering between 5.4-5.6 before meal (with the occasional 4.7 if I don eat in between breakfast and evening diner) and 5.7 to 6.00 after meals. An overall daily average level of 5.9 . Are there any tricks that I am missing which could help in reducing the morning Levels? Or it is just the way it is? Best wishes to everyone! Theo

Morning all. 8.2 this sunny day. Moving in the wrong direction despite a light evening meal and no supper yesterday. :(Had a very painful evening/ night and a long gap between breakfast and lunch yesterday due to a 2 hour meeting at mum's with a specialist dementia/ end of life care nurse so maybe that affected my levels? Blue skies and sunshine outside to cheer us.:joyful: All cards and most presents delivered so planning a rest today. Just mum's gifts to wrap and fresh Christmas food to buy. Safe journeys to those who are travelling and best wishes to all. :)

They pick the most auspicious locations don’t they?
Hope it is ok and not too painful. My slimmer friends seem to find it more painful than the bustier ones. I find it just a bit unpleasant but ok.
I do hope you can shake off the bug by the weekend so your friend is not at risk, then you’ll be able to enjoy a lovely Christmas together.

Your figures are good even with DP. My pre-meal readings are similar to yours, usually between 4.6 - 5.6, and unless I have a highly carby evening meal my post meal reading is usually well below 8. But my fbgs are around 6.3 - 6.4.
I don't worry about the occasional fbg readings over 7, unless they are for a prolonged period.

I don't think there is much you can do about it. Some find a small protein snack, like a handful of nuts or a piece of cheese, before you go to bed can 'block' the liver dump, but that doesn't work for me.
Eating your evening meal earlier might reduce it too.

Hi there. Thank you for your reply! I'll give the nuts and a piece of cheese a go and see whether there is any change? Perhaps my expectations are too high! It is what it is. Thanks again for sharing your experiences! Best Wishes! Theo

Morning all, - well its still just morning and I feel like this is a confessional this morning as I've slept in. Of late I've been waking at 4.30am and starting my days at 6 so a lie in was a surprise. My attempts at finding a reading this morning gave me figures of 9, ( cant be right I thought, try again..), 5.7, ( Yea thats about right, but better test again just in case.) 6.6, ( what the .... ), (6.4 , this is beginning to hurt.) So take your pick....
............................................. About a year ago I bought a massive amount of strips for the meter, the bathroom shelf was so packed out with them that it looked like I was stockpiling for an unforeseen event . ( A premonition of Brexit maybe?).... ...........Today I am on my last pot. Maybe thats why the readings are odd, who knows,? ...not me .... My new brand of meter is smaller, apparently gives better readings but the strips costs more.... I'll finish off these dozen or so strips for the "old" meter over the festive period and start the new year with new ways....Have a great day all.... The postman just reminded me its getting to look a lot like Xmas...

The numbers you're quoting are the same as I'm running now. Diagnosed in March and to start with I did get my morning FBG in the 5's, but I was fasting like a madman. Now I'm happy that my day running figures are between 5-6.
