Too true......chalk it up as a success to us!!@Traceymac23 fingers crossed for you today - hope you’ll be going home later. Getting through sepsis is a major achievement, and definitely worth celebrating.
@Tru Blue there does seem to be a lot of that flu-ey type lurgy around at the moment. Hope you get better soon. Have you got to work today?
@gennepher well done on helping your 90yo friend with his techy problems. My dad ( sadly no longer with us) was desperate to get on line and surf the net. He was a very clever man - had been an engineer in his working life, but I think it was just too different to the world he understood and we would all get frustrated trying to talk him through it yet again. We wrote crib sheets out for him, but he would be confused by the next time he tried. We certainly all needed a treat afterwards, it was so stressful - usually a couple of glasses of wine.
Hugs phil xMorning everyone, a high 9 for me due to a buzzing head cold, take care everyone.
Thank you@philchap1 @P1ckle I really do hope that you both get well soon!
@Bubbsie Oh I hear that! Suddenly getting to be more of a coffee addict than I was pre-diagnosis.
@Traceymac23 Fingers crossed you can finally get yourself home!
Woke up to a 4.8 this morning, woke up just five seconds before my alarm so either my body anticipated it or that was the minimum sleep it wanted. Got to say though, why has Winter come back again? Chilly here by the Humber to the point where even I wanted to buy some gloves!
Wishing you all a fantastic day though!
Thank youGood morning. Missed posting yesterday. Fasting blood sugars yesterday were 5.1 and today 4.6.
@SaskiaKC -- So happy you decided to stay. The thread would have been a much lonelier place without you. Love your funny, caring and positive attitude.
@jjraak -- So sorry to have missed your birthday -- glad you had a great time though ... and happy belated birthday.
@Patrick66 -- Glad that your wound has stopped ouzing -- hope it heals soon.
@Alf-Josiah -- Hope all goes well with your procedure today.
@gennepher -- Welcome to the forum. So happy you decided to join.
@DJC3 -- Great run of fasting blood sugars lately. Brilliant achievement.
Seems quite a lot suffering from various ailments lately, my hugs go out to all of you -- @True Blue, @geefull, @P1ckle, @philchap1. Hope y'all feel better soon.
Have a great day, everyone.
Thanks Karen xHugs phil x
Wise words and worth careful consideration. Clearly, the focus in a thread with this title is fbg and for many type 2s the mantra seems to be the lower the better. Some posters are consistently below 5 which looks enviable. The missing information is how they achieve that and, often, their size. Colour me odd but rollitos and pork scratchings are not a lunch but YMMV/chacun a son gout. I will spoil all that slightly by saying great numbers @DJC3 @geefull and @OrsonKarttYou’re right though - its very easy to get fixated on ever lower numbers, and that’s not always helpful.
I can "tune in" to your experiences with your dear dads, jjraak and DJC3 except with me it is my lovely mum who has Alzheimers. We just have to do our best as I'm sure you both did. Best wishes to you both.Agree.
Take that back to the VCR days...aagghh.
Loved em, but "fix this"..meant a trip over and moments after trying it was "don't bother"..go home and do what you were doing. Don't bother...ahhhhh.
Cue me desperate to sort as VCR AND TV now NOT tuned in..Dad getting antsy, while I ignore his pleas and fix ..then Full on gratitude for fixing....only to be called back at silly o'clock another day.....bless.
Wish I had been a lot more chilled now, but those drinks once home WERE we deserved..
Being fixated on lower and lower numbers is something I have to be careful of. You are right that I am doing really well and have to keep reminding myself of . Today is a much less hectic day and I should be able to complete my 'to do list' for today as well as get some relaxation time.Just shows how well you’re doing generally. You’re right though - its very easy to get fixated on ever lower numbers, and that’s not always helpful.
Hope there is less stress in your life today.
Hello DJC3 (still don't know how to copy red links) No, I don't have to work at the moment. I was going to wash seagull poo off the deck of my boat. Think I'll stay indoors.@Traceymac23 fingers crossed for you today - hope you’ll be going home later. Getting through sepsis is a major achievement, and definitely worth celebrating.

Yes - I must admit I do get envious of the below 5s. By the way - I have just noticed that your HBA1C is running at 37/38 since 2016. Now I am truly envious. Some posters are consistently below 5 which looks enviable.
Nothing to be envious about with my HbA1c @Krystyna23040 I am not particularly happy with that but other people tell me to chill. I am continually utterly confused by most of what I read on here. By the way @True Blue, just put an @ in front of a member's username.Yes - I must admit I do get envious of the below 5s. My HbA1c is 42 - so I can only dream of 37/38. When I get downhearted about this I do keep reminding myself that it was 125 on diagnosis and when injecting insulin it was in the 50s. So 42 on keto and no insulin is not too bad. I am hoping for a 39 next time as all my BS readings have been a lot lower over these last few weeks.Nothing to be envious about with my HbA1c @Krystyna23040 I am not particularly happy with that but other people tell me to chill. Hello my friend. Yes we see FBG numbers, but not the back-story of current insulin, meds. exercise or diet. I'm no doctor, but I suspect the BG outcome is more important than the process. I've only been doing proper testing for two months so I'm open to new advice/information. Weight is down 5kg, my key long-term metric IMHO.Wise words and worth careful consideration. No idea of my own fbg still firmly nailing down proper waking up time.
Personally, the BG outcome independent of lipids, resting pulse rate, sleep pattern, full blood panel and impact on exercise performance is necessary but not close to sufficient. Great news on weight - IMHO that is where LC does work.Hello my friend. Yes we see FBG numbers, but not the back-story of current insulin, meds. exercise or diet.
