    Hi everyone.

Just an update to my journey on the road of type 3c diabetes.
I have just had my 6 month review with specialist at the hospital and my HbA1c was 6.5% and the doctor was well impressed:)
I told him my success was mainly due to me using self funded LIBRE FREESTYLE since December 2018.
Straight away he said he will recommend I get this on prescription which was a bonus.
I also use self funded I PORT ADVANCE and these are great the insulin seems to get to where it is required easier than normal needles.
As for my digestion I still take plenty of creon which is up and down but not much else I can do with that lol.
Doc said he will see me again in 12 month time or before if I require.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE

@Sparkydillo great news on numbers and possible end to self funding. @karen8967 sounds like a comfortable level to be at for you. @JohnEGreen looks like a good run of fbg numbers. My fbg was 4.9 if I choose to believe the meter. My focus for a while is on finding ways to consume enough (LC) food to match at least my bmr most days. 2 years ago I was dressed in full suit and tie at son's wedding in Skiathos - 42C. Have a song on me and read into it what you want.

6.4 today. 2 days of excesses during No.2 son's visit (not bad stuff, just too much of the good), or yesterday's 'Hungy Mouth Syndrome'? Does anyone else get that? Tummy says no but mouth leads you in the direction of small yet tasty morsels - couple os squares of dark chocolate, half a dozen nuts, bit of cheddar......

Most days my tummy pleads longingly but when I realise the LC options it very soon screams, McEnroe like, you cannot be serious - so I just have another 3 pints of tea

This could be my problem atm, sticking to low carb, high fat but maybe I'm eating too much of it!

I know we're not supposed to calorie count but I've noticed that if my calories are higher than 1300 for the day, ny FBG is higher the next day. I'm treating myself to a couple of super-low calorie days to try and get them down again (and I am totally blaming my son.....).

Been having issues with high blood readings over the last few days. Not sure what is going on as apart from one experiment with the falafel I have been eating my usual food apart from I have been having some berries and cream for dessert each night and had a couple of glasses of red wine over the week. (Think the berries and cream might be the culprit).

Think things are starting to improve, missed out the berries and cream last night and at 11:00pm bloods were 5.5, this morning however they were 6.4. Thought this might be DP but bloods have continued to be in 6s but at least don't seem to be rising higher. Had a couple of 8 measures at the beginning of the week. Got a visit to the DN nurse on the 6th so will be drinking plenty of water from now until then.

Just when I start to feel I am winning, weather, or exertion, or allergy, or (yes I confess, holiday indulgences) get the better of me. 7.2 this morning.
Sack cloth, ashes, and fasting is what I am facing until back on track.
