What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8am: 4.9mmol/L. (Chocolate Optislim for Breakfast.
9am: 8.4mmol/L.

Groovy. 8)

That's an excellent fasting Patch!

5.6 mmol/l for me this morning... after my gardening (digging) yesterday lasted into the evening, I went to bed with a bit of a buffer just in case

Hi everyone! after a coffee, 10.0 still high I know! have cranked up the insulin 5 more units since saturday.

MINE is between 4.4 to 6.5
BUT IT WILL SHOOT UP to BETWEEN 9 TO 15 AND STAY ON UNLESS I DRINK AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK A KIND OF FRUIT JUICE

5.7 just now. I get up at 5.30 as hubby is a postie. If I get up later I'm usually in the 6 - 6.5 range.

3.9.

That's right - I said 3.9!.

That is just 2 weeks after stopping all my diabetes medication and going on a liquid diet incl. 60g SUGAR (not carbs) per day.

Absolutely stunning Patch.
Amazing   I too found whileI was on the Optifast I was getting amazing FBGbut high 1 hour post readings. Cannot understand the secret ingredients they must be putting in the shakes .
Now I'm back to my low carb but often have two home grown shakes a day with berries. No post shake spikes with mine and I am getting lots of low 4s and one 3.7.
Well done Patch! I am so impressed.
Mine today was another 4.4.

Can't match yours Patch or Clearviews :)
Mine were as follows:
Fasting 5.4
@ 2 hours 6.1
I'm pleased with those though.

Clearviews - I'm pretty sure that in the next couple of weeks I'll be trying some lo-carb, home made shakes as an alternative to the high sugar Optislim shakes. Thanks for your recipe by PM!

I'm also considering trying it with Budwig Shakes (Flax Seed Oil and Quark made into a shake w/berries).

We all know the benefits of good fats/oils so I'll be extremely interested in seeing what changing out sugar for oil will do to my weight and BG.

How do you feel patch, in general ? with the lowered BG levels and weight loss ?
Hope you dont mind me asking you this?
I was 9.8 this monrning! Nothing new there for me.
Am seeing my DSN this weds so will be having a good chat with her regards the insulin increases failing to bring my high BG levels down. :(
Anna.

Don't mind at all! I feel absolutely fine. I've stopped drinking the energy drink (sugar free) that I used to have to get me going of a morning, and feel absolutely great all day. Reason being that I couldn't get toslep at night if I DID drink one!!!

I suspect eating much less (volume of food & calories) is making me not only more sensitive to insulin, but more sensitive to other drugs/stimulants. Gonna take it VERY easy this weekend on the beer just to be safe!

Like I've said elswhere - no negative side effects. Except the hunger. I find it easy coping through the wek - but weekends are bloody hard.

Are you sure that Budweiser shakes are a good idea Patch

Thanks patch, you like a drink and nibble to chill at the weekends, dont blame you.
I was just wondering if you ever felt light headed or dizzy these days?
Yep it is possible you could be more drug/stimulant sensitive.
Let us know how the beers go next weekend!
I go awful on a glass of wine, safer with slimline tonic water's n lemon slices stacked in them.

6.3 at 08:15 today  . That's the highest fasting reading I've had for weeks, I must be sickening for something - or stressed at the thought of driving 100 miles and staying away from home. Better a bit high than too low, I suppose, with that drive in front of me! Back at the weekend, folks.

Well done, Patch! Don't worry too much about the small weight loss - you'll have plateau'd for a bit - your body thinks you're starving to death and is trying to hang on to everything it's got. I once had only a mug of soup a day for 2 weeks and only lost 6lbs! :? I'm older and wiser now.

8.2 - but I've discovered today that my throat is suspiciously red looking (got an appoint with the doc this Thurs), no pain just a very dry throat over the last few weeks.
