What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all you superstars. @Lainie71 I am holding your hand down that hill, 6.5 this morning. @JohnEGreen sounds horrible and always worse at night, take great care. @tabbytwo welcome to our friendly corner, great fbg btw. Don’t go hungry maybe eat a bit more of the “good” stuff. Happy Saturday All.
Italicised is why I gave optimistic. Great stuff coming down the hill.

just hearing the first few bars of the music made me feel happy.
Do do dooo…. Do do doooo….

Mike Post, yeah… Magnum PI, LA Law, Quantum Leap, Rockford files…… It got so with me that when I knew Mike Post was involved in a NEW series, I’d just watch it ‘cos of the Composer’s scores!

Thanks for the warm welcome, you all sound a friendly bunch. Been lurking for a while, trying to pluck up the courage to join:chicken: Need encouragement as feel I'm half starving myself at the moment in order to have good blood sugars.
@ianpspurs may I ask what or who is Elsie?
Hi and welcome from me, too, @tabbytwo . Took me a while to learn @ianpspurs speak. Special language, supportive though, as long as you can decode. ( I haven’t quite managed ‘Gert’ yet).
Don’t starve yourself, @tabbytwo , that is not sustainable. there are plenty of good foods to enjoy, without raising blood glucose levels, just watch the carbs and keep them to a minimum. You seem to be doing fine.

Ok if I wanted to be completely deceptive I would only tell of the nice clear 5.7 at 7:45am today. Hurrah, I am ahead of my schedule! :woot:

I ought to ignore the 10.4 at at 3:10am as I was pacing the floor trying to stop the cramps in my leg. Oh well, there you go, I have told you all now.:arghh:

Welcome aboard!! Really glad you've found us ;). You're gonna find some scrumptious things TO eat. What do you feel you're missing out on, now that you're watching carefully?

Epitome of tough times don't last, tough people do. Is that easily decoded?:angelic:

Good morning from the very misty Highlands here. 5.8 at 7am this morning, I'm okay with that. @Estragon I find potatoes and bread really spike my blood sugars, guess we're all the same though :( Have a good Saturday all xx

5.0 this morning. Thought I slept OK but seem to be very sluggish and unenthused about the day.

To the caffeine!
Hi Widgets, I'd read somewhere that caffeine doesn't up or lower your blood sugars but can make it unstable. Not sure if it was a credible source but wondering if you or anyone has any thoughts on this. Thanks :)

@ianpspurs . Do you feel like you could educate us all by putting your acronyms and other wisdom in your signature? Or does it please you to confuse newbies, (and some oldbies, like me)? ;)TYIA (not using this regularly so for those wondering it means Thank You In Anticipation):bag:

The Elsie way (LC, Low Carb) means I only have enough energy for TLAs - 3 letter abbreviations. (Exhausted now since I'm still fasting at 13.05. IF = Insufficient (edible) Food:angelic:).

I have no idea, it seems not to do much to me, but as everyone reacts individually to ... well, almost everything ... I'm sure that there are people out there for whom it does have an effect.

Example - I'm fine with macadamia nuts, but walnuts raise my blood sugar lots more. I am very wary of snacking on walnuts, but macadamias are fine for a snack. For me. Other people, the opposite or otherwise I would guess.

Woke up, heard a bird out in the garden, felt nicely refreshed. Got up ... and it's 04:30. Oh well, wide awake and glucose at 5.4.
06:15 re-check, a marginally more civilised hour, and I'm down to 4.8.

Body/metabolism really is having a laugh with me lately.

7.1 - Mustn’t gwumble. I have no idea why I’m so fascinated by this particular Border crossing? I’ve seen many in Europe and Africa. But this one holds absolutely no fascination for me. Moving on…..
