What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 7.6 bedtime and 7.8 this morning. Had the stitches out yesterday and am in more pain than ever. A question for the knowledgeable (that doesn't look right). My friend took her bg in both hands just as a matter of interest and left was 7.7 and right was 6.5. Any ideas why?

So travelled back down to son's on Sunday - what with road closures and diversions which did not have any follow on diversion signs it was certainly an interesting and scenic journey. So I have now retrieved my Sinocare testers, I also brought my Tee 2 which has been giving me the higher numbers to do a comparison. Interesting but frustrating results:

Yesterday
Sinocare Safe AQ - 5.2 Tee 2 - 6.2.
This morning
Sinocare Safe AQ - 5.3 Tee 2 - 6.3

A full point difference!:arghh:

Is it really worth testing FBG when you get contrary results like that - haven't a clue which tester is the more accurate?

Other than that I am a happy chappie as we walked grandkids to school and nursery this morning. :)

Good news on walking the grandkids to school. Why introduce confusion by using two meters? Use one and concentrate on the trends because in absolute terms neither are totally accurate and you don't need to calculate insulin. Them's my onions anyhow:)

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
Mine was 13.2 mmol.

New Swipey reckoned 3.8 with which I am extremely relaxed (I function perfectly well at that level) but obviously not completely convinced. Have a great day - post workout coffee is meant to be very helpful - by some - DD. Enjoy your day safely; infection rates may have gone from the news slightly but not from the UK - Boosterism isn't a viable strategy for infection control.
