What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.9 (wow!) this morning following a post supper of 9.2. So, a sub-7 after a 9, something has gotta be working, has to be.

HBA1C 14/07/2022 53.00 - Ugh, raised 7 points, quite depressing.

Didn’t get to post yesterdays FBG 7.2 ... probably a subconscious ugh.

6.8 this morning. Alittle better. Thai tonight for brothers birthday ... that should be interesting.

@Estragon Chin up. I know we all beat ourselves up on less then ideal numbers (Well i know I do) but as one of my HCPs says we should try not to look at numbers as good or bad but rather as “data” that can be worked with.

PS I’m terrible at taking my own advice. :)

Do you know why, @Estragon ? Anything at all that could be tweaked?
It is so frustrating when you see a turnaround in fortunes. Always admire that you keep reporting. Hope it can be sorted.

Thanks for responding, I really do mean it. You’ve prodded me to think deeply about my condition and my need for reflection on just I’ve convinced myself of doing.

OK, here goes. I’ve recently mentioned that my fasting results appeared to have plateaued on the 7s and 8s, and harder to achieve the 6s or even a 5. I’ve “brushed-off” this plateau-ing as being something that I can rectify by applying longer stints of LCHF, but it would appear not. Until I get some long term, pertinent and apposite, knowledgeable advise I’m having to deal with the further possibility of prolonged LCHF to, primarily, hold back an increase in HBA1C and potentially reduce the HBA1C at least back to my 46. I’d convinced myself that having achieved over two years, a downward momentum, 89 >> 46, I could slightly relax, not abandon, the yucky LCHF regime a little, it would appear not. It now appears that my EndoSys has had other ideas resulting in this swift kick in the sphericals!

I’d like to hear from others, if they’ve had such a HBA1C “knock-back” and then went on to achieve reductions in their HBA1Cs, and just how they did it. I’m open to suggestions. Oh yes, all my “other”, tests LFCs and urine are normal and my eye pressures are too.

And in other news, the Carpet Flooring Surveyor spent a goodly hour measuring-up Castile Estragon on Friday, and should deliver his quote shortly.

7.4 - Went to bed on a 8.2. This Plateau, again.

FBG 6.1 this morning which doesn't sound too bad but the figures behind that have been generally scary and well into diabetic land. I guess I am just not someone who can cope with a higher number of carbs and I will be glad when this experiment is over and I can get back to my preferred way of eating.

Morning all. 7.2 at 4.30 this morning after a bedtime 8.1. @Estragon, you've prodded me into reflecting on my eating habits. And I've come up with a shameful admission. I'm not following the rules as I should. I make my plans for food for the day and then go off it, although I'm not daft enough to wonder why my readings are up, I KNOW. So thank you @Estragon. Afraid I can't help you with your problem tho. I got down from 88 to 46 and now I'm 51 (or maybe higher) so it's pretty obvious I'm being stupid. Stay safe everyone.

Sure, but tempered with this prediabetic 6<>8 Plateau. I can’t relax whilst within this region. I can’t sustain this downward hard won trajectory by easing-up. As to a shameful admission, turn that into motivating resolution and be realistic.

Look, @RosemaryJackson , I’ve found our “chat” truly supportive and, potentially, remedial for carving out a better future. I hope this will work with others too.

I know you are disappointed as any of us would be BUT please keep the faith and stay with us. It isn’t a big rise and there might be ways of making it better. I tolerate a lot less carbs than I could 1-2 years ago. My latest tweak a few months ago was to drop snacks completely but I do eat 3 times a day. I will be disappointed if I have to go down to eating twice a day but will have to see. My FBG is not good but I try and make it up over the day. Try, try and try again!
Back to topic this morning two hours earlier than usual my FBG was 7.0 so work to be done today whether the heat will sabotage or not. Take care everyone.

Morning all. 9.4 this morning . Had a bad night, woke late with a headache so not surprised. I shouldn't really be surprised at anything to do with the Demon should I? He (GOT to be male!) does it every day! Have a lovely weekend but make sure you are careful (of the heat and dehydration)
Suspect a lot of that is to do with pain and illness. Be kind to yourself while staying LC. I’m sure numbers will be better when you heal.

Reality-Sanity! - It's not just about the size of the rise, it's that it should've even happened at all, and, it takes such a long time between HBA1Cs to get an understanding. And yes, I stay on the Forum. ;)

@Estragon no idea what your mobility is like
Adequate. Somewhere waaaay below your 7>8, but point taken. Every time I’ve walked my BS has dropped. Did a very short 1.5km to our local SAINSBURYS and I got a 6.1. So, I’m gonna nudge my walking up. Good point!
