Diabetes and Hot Weather - Staying Safe & Heat Exhaustion judging by this article and some comments from people on the forum yes it does. Also here is a link to an article about glucose testers also being affected by extremes of temperature so it looks as if can hit us all ways.4.4 this morning. Feeling good at the results of fasting but 2 hrs post lunch /dinner keeps surprising me swinging between high and low while eating the same stuff.
Does heat effects our BS numbers?? I live in Pakistan where the average temperature from the last one month is between 38 and 42 degrees plus extremely humid.
Everything in life comes with side effects, some good, some not so good7.2 - Interesting outcome last night: 6.3 before meal and then three hours later 6.2. This is a really good thing. Also, the last time I had a pre-bed 6.2 was in May this year.
So, my outcome with my Doc was that I am obviously using and adhering controls and collecting the data. I am in an “acceptable” area of non-insulin-requirement. My recent uplift in HBA1Cs is a normal occurrence. However, Doc agreed I need to combat/counter my LCHF regimen, and reduce my BMI and improve my Insulin release, and has invited me to use Orlistat, leading to Potential flatulence, oily smelly loose stools and a heap of “potential” life challenging opportunities. Yeah, I’ll give it a go. Truly, outcomes appear to be modest, but if this also gets my HBA1Cs down, again, well it’d be churlish of me not to have a go.
