What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.3 this morning after a very low carb day yesterday. It was surprising how much I wanted to have a slice of bread but I managed to talk myself out of it. Just reminded myself how yuck I felt after eating all those carbs.

And I thought was getting somewhere with morning numbers . How wrong was i 7.5 this morning :(

Morning, my bg was 19.6 mol/l this morning. It was 26.7 mmol/l before going to bed last night.
I am dmt2, I had good control with low carb diet alone for almost 2 years. The last few months have seen no change in diet but hyperglycaemia. I’ve experienced chronic stress which is likely to be a cause. I’ve just put a call out to gp /dn. feeling very nauseous.
Do let us know how you get on @Bex72 . That must be very worrying for you. Make sure you get checked by doctor or nurse today.

Record breaking temperatures. Record breaking BG fasting level for me 8.6.
That after a couple of days of very little appetite, and low carb food, but really feeling uncomfortablein this heat.

Thanks Pipp,
I had urine samples to drop off to gp and spoke to nurse quickly. She’s going to dip test and let me know if ketones are present. I may need to go to A&E either today or in a couple of days if levels are still high. Not something I relish the thought of. Thanks for your kind words and advice.

I just wonder are some of us more susceptible to the heat than others causing unusual numbers than their normal ones they see. Some are seeing rises in fasting numbers while others say seeing lower ones ..Im certainly not comfortable in this kind of heat espically at night . Roll on milder temp ..we are never happy when is cold we want it warm and visa versa:)

Yes, I have another health condition that causes allergic type reactions to changes in weather conditions. Particularly heat.
We all have had the hotbweather emergency warnings, so hope everyone can take things easy until the inevitable British thunderstorms start. Can’t be soon enough for me.

Yes to the heat playing havoc with my arthritic joints, @valann I also note higher fasting levels despite having poor appetite, so in awe of yours.
@Estragon, after 17 years T2, and perhaps 7 years low carb I thought I understood how to cope with BG levels. Alas, nothing stays static with this crafty T2, and I am able to tolerate less carbs than before. So tweaking has taken place, and I have altered the ratios of protein and fats. Something had to give, and that is my weight . Every ounce I lose goes and finds another ounce to bring back with it.
Rather than derail, I will report yesterday 5.8. Hurrah! Today 7.1 , nuff said.
Just have to keep working through the maze.

Sending big but gentle hugs Pipp ((( HUGS )))

My bg is like a yo-yo at the moment, fasting 8.4 at 4.30am then 6.5 at midday??? Both fasting. I know we're obsessed with the weather in the UK but this heat is rediculous, so looking forward to it cooling down tomorrow. Hopefully our arthritis and bloods will then behave x

Morning All. 8.1 what? Maybe its due to lack of sleep plus my wasp stings are Day 9 and out of control so heavy duty antiH pills from Doc yesterday may be part of it. Big sympathy for the heat issues @Pipp because I don’t cope well with sickly heat. Agree roll on thunderstorms but esp rain!! Take care All.

Morning all. Big hugs for everyone who is suffering! I am sitting near an open window on the 'cool' side of my biungalow. Heaven after the last few days! Last night's bedtime reading was 6.9 and fbg today was 6.1 !!!! Very happy.

4.4 this morning. Feeling good at the results of fasting but 2 hrs post lunch /dinner keeps surprising me swinging between high and low while eating the same stuff.
Does heat effects our BS numbers?? I live in Pakistan where the average temperature from the last one month is between 38 and 42 degrees plus extremely humid.

9.1 yesterday and 9.2 this morning heat lack of sleep and horrendous heat in work all playing havoc with my numbers and my BP.
