What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 4.9 here after some spiffing Porchetta yesterday. Breakfast/eating windows eh? David Unwin is known for his N=1 take on that. Over in the full fat thread some interesting comments on all this. Many here have comorbidities needing medication which often needs to be taken with food, factor in other family members and the 4 - 6 hr eating window is impossible. There's textbook management and real life. Have the best day you can folks.

15.7 this morning not going to bother with breakfast as it will make it much worse, this diabetes lark is kicking my ****, feel like utter *****, doc started me on Gliclazide so will start taking that in next couple days.

And FBG 6.0 on the nose for me today. I can live with that.

A thought - I have just started a new box of testing sticks for my meter. They are giving what I regard as ‘normal’ numbers for me, so far. The previous box consistently read much higher. I am not doing anything different food wise. Looking back on my numbers for the last month, ie roughly the duration of the last box, all readings are scaled up. I am wondering if the last box was out of date/corrupted. Has anyone else had this?

I think I will get a Libre or a Dexcom to provide a double check.

Did you calibrate your metre or do a quality control test? If I suspect the strips are dodgy I check one of them with the control solution and check it against the range which is on the side of the tub.
