What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yay, FBG 5.3 this morning at 7.30am! :) Think that is possibly the lowest FBG I’ve had. Super happy with that.

Proof- if i needed it - that keeping the daily carbs low is helpful for me. My dinner last night had a high overall calorie count but the carb count was just 13g carbs. Off for a swim and then breakfast,I shall resist everything but the sausages….

Hello and welcome to the thread. We're pleased you could join us.

This morning's FBG isn't great and, if this happens frequently, I would make an appointment to see your GP. S/he may want to adjust your current medication. There are other anti-diabetic drugs they can prescribe.

Meanwhile, how are your readings immediately before and two hours after meals? Are you doing everything you can to keep carb intake low? For dietary advice and help with LCHF, I'd raise a separate thread in the Food and Nutrition neighbourhood of the forum. There are lots of knowledgeable and experienced folk there.

Good to see you. Almost by definition those with high fbg don't post here as they are either unaware, told not to test, in denial or (badly) advised to follow the eatwell plate route. You've made the necessary first steps by testing and posting. @LivingLightly has given helpful advice so we look forward to seeing your journey. There will be ups and downs but your own big picture is what matters. Fbg isn't a competition and we are all unique.

I post whatever mine are I've had numbers in the 9's and 10's in the not too distance past . Also please don't think this is a competition I only "compete " as such with my own BG . :)
