What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I’m new. What a great forum. Thank you. Tracking BG only a week. FBG ranging from 5.8-6.1. But day can include banging from low 4s to high 9s. And a 14 once. No idea why. Have fainting and headaches most days. Maybe other issues (autoimmune). Much to learn.
Welcome @RobynV. Hug for the fainting and headaches. I'm sure people round here who know these things can offer advice but as always doctors are the first port of call.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
I like this idea. This morning was 5.2 mmol for me. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's readings over the next few days

5.8 - Back amongst the Five-Hive. Well, yesterday I took on my nemesis Hill in our local park. Previously I’d need two or three rests, and each time I’d be scared to take it on. Well, playmates, yesterday, we walked up the same Hill, felt a new sense of lightness and stamina, reach the top and sat down on a bench and didn’t do my previous weak and shattered feeling. Rested for a quarter of the time, checked my heart rate, which was in gamut, and repeated the circuit! So twice around my nemesis, walked home and came back with a sense of achievement and renewal.

Last year my nemesis was Mam Tor in Derbyshire. Got half way up and had to sit down and get my breath back, while resting watched much older people powering on up.

Got up and made it to the top. That was the motivation to give up smoking and I did. Now even though I’m a type 1 diabetic can walk a good 12 miles without even getting a sweat on.
