What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 7.7 this morning, bit better. Have a good day folks.
Morning @RosemaryJackson. Carb intake is the chief reason for raised BG readings. We stress food intake and timing of meals because those are two factors which we can control.

Unfortunately, the body adapts to the continued presence of an anti-diabetic drug like Metformin so stopping that medication is bound to lead to a rise in blood glucose readings. On top of that, you're suffering from sciatica and pain can certainly contribute to higher readings. I hope your practice nurse has prescribed effective pain relief.
Thank you. I.m trying to control it by diet and exercise but of course the exercise is almost nil because of the pain. I can but keep trying.

Morning @RosemaryJackson. Well, your efforts have been rewarded with a better FBG reading this morning. You're heading in the right direction now.

NHS waiting times for physiotherapy have reached record highs. Have you considered seeing a chiropractor or osteopath for your sciatica?

Hahahahaha.

GOOD MORNING..... Hahahahaha

Happy Days again.....
Entered the five hive 2 days ago, which was a great result, but then yesterday bounced straight back out to 6.2mmol.
(Not too far off five hive though).
Went 'All-In'....... in a fresh attempt to rejoin the hive for today and smashed my personal best with a low BG 4.8mmol reading. I guess I've now achieved the easiest part of the programme and must now do the hard yards, by doing my utmost, to maintain this kind of level consistently.

Wowser! BG 4.8mmol though. . . . .
Who'd have thought it a couple of weeks back, when readings hit 19.4mmol and 22.8mmol.:..:
It's made me feel good to do well, but I'm not daft and know it's easy to be sidetracked. Many thanks to the friendly bunch on here for the daily support I received . It has helped enormously.
Good luck with yours guys..........
Have a lovely day.

Congratulations @Ashybang! Yes, consistency is the name of the game, but that FBG reading of 4.8 mmol is a milestone, which you can build on.

Morning All 6.7 today so can see the Hive on the horizon. @Ashybang congrats so pleased for you and @RosemaryJackson well done not easy to control BG when unwell. Hope you can find a way to tackle the sciatica as its a horrible thing. @flonvic rooting for you it will get better. Happy Thursday everyone, take care, stay well, get better.

6.5 this morning,
Neither surprised nor disappointed because yesterday’s 5.ish was a fluke, brought about I suspect by the extreme cold in my bedroom (8 deg C).

Just happy to be below 7 and definitely below the 8s and 9s of a few weeks back.

5.8 FBG this morning, 5.9 yesterday. So in the hive, for now. Still feeling a bit bilious, hope I'm not coming down with something. That would be just my luck before my Xmas trip to the Antipodes. Its not Covid, I tested and I had my vaccine about 2 weeks ago, so all should be well. Must be excitement :)

@Ashybang - Well done you! I'm still striving for that elusive 4, but I'm happy with progress and the fact the level keeps within a reasonable range.
