A late entry - FBG of 6.1 at 6am this morning, before it leapt up to 7.6 on Libre whilst I pottered around making my working lunch and getting ready. Consistent, anyhow.
Enjoy the rest of the day, hugs to those that seek them.

Hi Omar51.
You are a massive inspiration , with your disciplined low BG readings. Very well done .
Just like to say from my side of the fence though.......

Coffee is here to stay! Lol

Hi Ashybang.
Yes indeed, I drank coffee for 20/30 years. Now I am drinking black tea w/o cream and sugar….

Thanks for the conversation!

@ravensmitten[/USER] you are a saint to put up with that nonsense and attitude of your doctor. Follow your own best instincts.

Well, it's why we were arguing, because I wasn't putting up with that sort of thing. Also I don't take it to heart, if I was to be bittersweet about it I would say, what better satisfaction do I need than waking up today and knowing I'm not him.

Ravensmitten, the best comeback you can give them is to show that what you are doing WORKS. And allow yourself a smirk. All power to you!

True, but I'm not doing any of this for them, and have nothing to prove, although they'd probably still take credit for it anyway.

5.7 on rising today, lowest its been in weeks, and dare I say months now, LC it is then.

Oh doctor, if you insist!!

I just found out that avocet have just arrived locally. Very seldom seen in North Devon, so I'm off to find it, along with glossy ibis and a possible spoonbill. Wish me luck
Ah avocets, so elegant and beautifully proportioned; the Audrey Hepburn of wading birds according to Chris Packham. We see them along the Thames Estuary, spoonbills too, but the glossy ibis turns up just occasionally. Good luck.

Volunteering at our local nature reserve, it must be said, works wonders for my BG levels. I hope your impromptu birding session works for you too.

Guess what….shovelling in -22 causes a blood sugar rise. 5.9 before lunch, 7.4 2 hours later (after shovelling)…blah. My dogs paws got very cold…she just sits and holds her paws up…so sad.

I was getting a little bit ' ****** off ' with my very self, for repeatedly hitting double figures and had a stern telling off ......from me for allowing it.

It seems to have had the desired effect, though at lunchtime yesterday , my BG reading was 13.6 mmol and I'd been in Double figures for several days.
I cut everything out...... fasted from 1pm and though hungry I went without food.
Upshot is, my BG this morning on waking was 5.7 mmol.
Going to treat myself to a bit of breakfast and continue with an aim of keeping BG well below double figures.
I'm happy my effort yesterday rewarded me with the lower BG reading this morning, but it did feel bloody hard going.............
Thing is, I will not allow this condition to beat me. No way!
See what comes along today.
Hope you all have a lovely start to the weekend.

Too many to list here . . .

See, your body can take back control, it just needed that wake up call by some careful, prolonged fasting. Do monitor how you’re feeling during a fast, and should you drop into a Hypo - please? But well done. I also use this to get my EndoSys back into line. Well done @Ashybang, well done. What I would invite you to do, going forward, is that you remember your remedies and use them for the future, will you do it? 5.7 is something to be proud of.

Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
Well, yesterday I said I was aiming for the hive.

I overshot!

Libre 5.7
Pricker 4.7 !!! Tested twice in disbelief 4.6 and 4.7

Like @Ashybang (very well done, that man!) I did a 23 hour fast yesterday and despite waking every 2 hours last night it paid off. I found that having a hot drink of a bouillon cube (0.1g carb) with a slice of fresh lemon every time I thought about eating did the trick. So maybe being extra hydrated also helped?

Edit: off to do weekly weigh in now - fingers crossed.

Morning BG of 6.7 - much better and further evidence how my afternoon birding session helped my BGs. Yesterday's "haul" was pretty extraordinary, including glossy ibis, spoonbill, cattle egret, lesser scaup, eider as well as all the usual culprits

Morning All so 7.9 and probs no different from the previous 8s but will keep carrying on. Made a big pot of broccoli & leek soup without thickeners to support less eating. @Ashybang as if you and @Estragon could go any higher in my opinion you are able to fast something I really can’t do. So the lo lo method and carry on for me. Hugs @DEBBIESCOTT that really is horrible for you. Hugs to all.
