What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Ù
Hi Estragon.
Thank you for your comments.
For sure, going forward I will use all the tools at my disposal, to reduce BG levels, should they return to the higher readings.
I understand that the more time spent with BG >8 mmol, the more damage is being done in my body. That's my simple way of looking at the situation.

Hi Penguinmum....
Youre always very kind and thoughtful and your comments are very much appreciated.....
Any chance of a bowl or two of the broccoli and leek soup......
I reckon on it being well tasty......yum yum
The fasting seems to be OK to a point, then admittedly it plays mind games.
Living lightly pointed me in the direction of a cup of bovril, to help if cravings get too much to bear........It works too.....

FBG of 6.3 before getting out of bed, around 7.9 and rising when I got up. This is how it is, I guess, it wasn't diet as my carbs yesterday were super low for me. I actually lost weight over Christmas, although that was probably down to the after effects of the mussel debacle.

Back to a morning swim today, may as well use up some of that excess BG. Libre is on its last day so I'll also be back to finger pricks tomorrow. Have a good Friday

6.3 on last day of hollibobs, I'm still very confused as to why the numbers are low (I've been very naughty) and I've paused metformin, can't cope with the side effects...
Lots of hugs to you all, those who are suffering, and others just cos.

Morning all still in the 5’s just at 5.9 was not a good day yesterday. After my Normal breakfast/ lunch/ dinners my levels spiked to 10 even though I took the right amount of insulin and strange I could smell insulin after a bolus. Looks like my Omnipod 5 pump catheter had become dislodged and not giving me the correct amount. The joys of pumps !! All sorted now and back to how it should be

The mussel debacle sounds like fun ..not lol

This is nothing to do with the thread but I just felt like posting it just to show the ignorance around what people with diabetes should eat !
Is porridge good for diabetics?

Porridge oats or the instant variety are both fine - just avoid those with added free sugars like honey and golden syrup. Wheat biscuits, shredded wheat or muesli (with no added sugar) are also great alternatives. For sweetness, add chopped fruit.

Too right @mojo37. Dear me, porridge, wheat biscuits, shredded wheat or muesli would send my blood glucose through the roof at any time of day, let alone at breakfast when my pesky insulin resistance is at its perishing worst!

Results in.Hba1c still at 45.I dont think she will put me back on them.I thought it would have gone up!Phone call on tuesday.
Thanks for the update: I didn’t know whether to put a Winner or a Hugs emoji! Please take whichever suits .
