Good morning all. 6.8 today. Like @PenguinMum, I am unmedicated so really, I feel like a winner! Have a good Sunday folks.
Evening @ChrisT2
Type 2 is a very individual disorder and we're all different, as you know.
In my own case, finger-pricking over some 20 years has shown me that type 2 BG readings do not necessarily reflect food consumption on a strictly meal-to-meal basis. The effects of overdoing the carbs on consecutive days can add up, plus the benefits of some anti-diabetic drugs tend also to be cumulative.
Please hang in there @ChrisT2. As time goes by, low carbing gets easier. It doesn't happen overnight as a rule, but given time, a pattern that's unique to you will emerge and your readings will no longer seem so inexplicable.
Don't beat yourself up and certainly no need to be ashamed . I had a nightmare stressful shifts over the weekend and I turned to food ate a shed load of carbs . I am annoyed at myself but back on trying today .Morning All. 8.6 (my highest ever) simply because I had my burger off the bbq in a brioche bun with low sugar ketchup last evening. Also lots of lettuce but didn’t minimise the damage! Bad choice and I was starving, missed lunch, not to be repeated. I am so reactive and so ashamed. Annual A1c in July so better pull my socks up. Well done everyone, have a good Monday.
Keep on trying tomorrow might be a lower number .Back into the unknown, 10.1 sadly and very good yesterday (for me anyway) only 90g carbs.
