Don't beat yourself up and certainly no need to be ashamed . I had a nightmare stressful shifts over the weekend and I turned to food ate a shed load of carbs . I am annoyed at myself but back on trying today .
Agreed you shouldn't feel ashamed. I am rapidly discovering levels go up and down for no apparent reason irrespective of diet. Even when doing your best with food the levels seem to show the opposite. Anyway a burger in a bun with lettuce once in a while should not be a reason to feel ashamed.

So back home from my break - came back Sunday. Wish I could say I really enjoyed it however whilst I enjoy visiting the area, it rained a lot so we never really got as much walking done as we intended. I don't usually mind rain, but we really got a drenching on a couple of occasions. The house we rented looked really good on paper supposedly 10/10 but it didn't live up to expectations. The beds etc were nipping clean bathrooms were really luxurious, but the pans and cooking trays etc,.in the kitchen left a lot to be desired. Generally grubby with grease left in the fry pans and some of the baking trays were rusty. Also,. I don't appreciate going on holiday and having to scour the inside of the cooker just so we could use it. Actually OH was the one that cleaned it bless him. The leather sofas in the living room looked good but they had to be the most uncomfortable sofas I have ever experienced which resulted in a really aching back and my hip area went into spasm - not nice. I was glad to be back home. Had to take some naproxen which i already had at home from a previous soft tissue injury. Doc must think I am old as when he prescribed it he also told me I had to take Omeprazole in conjunction. Looking at the constituents of Omeprazole, it contains sucrose. Duh!. No wonder my bloods went up into the high 6s. To top it all yesterday something fluey hit me and that has knocked me for six. I think it is just a cold/flu but will test for Covid just in case. I have my lunch club this Thursday - its my turn for dessert and I had intended to do a pineapple charlotte russe. If it is Covid, that won't be happening.

Back at home with more comfortable chairs to sit on, the back seems to be improving but I have been really dizzy with a pounding head, and just feel meh! I've decided to stop taking the Naproxen. FBG was 6.8 this morning. I've got my A1c coming up in a couple of weeks usually I am confident of a reasonable result, not this year think I might be coming out of remission my bad but
literally Bricking it!

Its not that bad, lots of things contribute to dicey fbg. I am an expert in the profanities that accompany a pants fbg and a 7.2 is not that bad from my experience ;)
I am also becoming an expert at profanities when the usual but unexpected high result comes up on my meter. Far too polite to mention my initial thoughts on here but many times I have been milliseconds away from making my meter airborne not to mention throwing those expensive little measuring sticks that always lie to me out of the window.
However since being on here I find it is not just me with these anger issues so I feel at least I am in good company.

Morning All. 8.6 (my highest ever) simply because I had my burger off the bbq in a brioche bun with low sugar ketchup last evening. Also lots of lettuce but didn’t minimise the damage! Bad choice and I was starving, missed lunch, not to be repeated. I am so reactive and so ashamed. Annual A1c in July so better pull my socks up. Well done everyone, have a good Monday.
Methinks it was the brioche bun wot dunnit @PenguinMum. Having skipped lunch, you were ravenous and it's all too easy to slip up when you're that hungry. Never mind, tomorrow's another day.

Morning All So 7.6 and better than yesterday. @Ryhia sorry to read about the disappointing holiday house, no excuse not to be clean, oc nothing we can do about the weather. I never knew Omeprazole which I am on daily contains sucrose. You have to wonder why? Anyway have a good day everyone.

9.7 this morning, was to be expected as 12.7 before bed last night. I am feeling a bit ropey as one of those summer colds, headaches and slept bad. Also been taking paracetamol, I reckon they must be fully carb loaded as that is only thing changed in my diet.;);)
