I have relatives in the Massachusetts who live rural, they have bears and my cousin was walking home from work and a bear strolled across the road in front of her. She took a photo! I would have runHow can you go out for a walk knowing there’s bears about?, I wouldn’t go out when we’ve got foxes in the garden
The stress of that would have raised my bg!Very late posting….it is now 7pm. I’ve been hitting 6.2 for the last three days. It’s my new normal. Sucks. I eat no carbs. I know the pancreas is broken but I was hoping for a miracle. I guess not being on meds yet is my own little miracle.
just back from our evening walk, we decided to head out back into the hills (our house backs on forested hills…so nice) as the temperature was not too hot. Just half a km into it…BEAR! He saw us before we saw him and he ran…but then turned around, stood on his hind legs and gave us all the once over. Luckily the dog did not see it. We made lots of noise and he wandered off. We did finish our walk and didn’t see him again. I find it so amazing that a big black blob can be so,hard to see in the forest! They really just disappear.
hoping for a little lower BS tomorrow.
Understood! He was very close, about ten feet when he started running, not good. Both hubby and I have extensive bear training and know what to do….but you never know. if there are cubs around, it’s an old bear, or you are near their food source then things can turn ugly. Generally they don’t bother humans (black bears) and will just leave. The stress of that would have raised my bg!
Given time and a consistent LCHF lifestyle @ChrisT2, your FBG readings should gradually fall so the rise will begin from a lower starting point and becomes less noticeable.Weird one for me this morning. 8.3 on waking. Strangely enough had a very good low carb day (for me at least) yesterday with only 47g carbs. Went to bed with BS of 5.7, fantastic as one of my lowest ever. Did all the right things, exercise good, no skipped meals, last meal salad at 6PM and slept well.
Cant' explain why my body conjured up a relatively high starting BS this morning bucking the trend and it will only get higher as the day wears on
The “Bare Necessities o Life” of my eye…. What Drama!Just half a km into it…BEAR! He saw us before we saw him and he ran…but then turned around, stood on his hind legs and gave us all the once over. Luckily the dog did not see it.
Yes it was a very strange day as readings high all day irrespective of food. Thankfully back in the 6s (6.7 this morning.) I have found though that it is just the way our bodies work to see BS rise in the morning until a peak around midday. I will take your advice and try to lower the starting point so the peak is not so high either. Just a shame though with these unexplained anomalies clouding the picture.Given time and a consistent LCHF lifestyle @ChrisT2, your FBG readings should gradually fall so the rise will begin from a lower starting point and becomes less noticeable.
Meanwhile, IME, you can stop a spike on rising with a modest snack; a teaspoon of sunflower hearts or pumpkin seeds or four to five almonds or hazelnuts should do the trick without affecting your appetite at breakfast.
