Do you guys use mg/dL or mmol/L?
I've seen people use both (I mean what do you use more frequently or is it based on the machine you use?)
No, not so much your blood glucose monitor @wanipuk, but where you live.

In 2010, most of the world changed to using mmol/mol and mmol/litre for diabetes measurements. The USA has continued to use the old percentages and mg/dl system.

5.7….
now, I had a very interesting day today. Hubby and I decided to drive to a wonderful farm market, not that I need anything but it’s a beautiful drive, a very fun market (very Mexican themed…oh, the music, it’s so fun), amazing weather and we just needed to do something different.
it was the best day, I shopped the market while hubs and puppy went down to the river. I got hubs a nice watermelon, some onions, some jalapeños (mine didn’t grow well this year and we need some poppers in our lives), gorgeous mangoes and a few apples. I had a blast. Then…I did something I haven’t done in five years….i ordered ice cream! Yes I did.
honestly they were the biggest scoops ever…one was mango, one was strawberry cream. It was so sweet…We sat in the shade and indulged. It was an experiment for me. I haven’t had sugar for five years and I never go off diet, but with the Cgm running out tomorrow I thought I’d do this experiment. Well…holy smokes…the spike! I was impressed, hubby was terrified. What’s most interesting is the aftermath…The spike was less than two hours and the glucose after the spike, lower than a normal day for me! Even now, four hours later, I’m sitting at 5.1….I'm rarely that low. I found this so interesting…I certainly jump started that pancreas! It’ll be fun to see what happens over the next 24 hours…will it make a difference? Will everything just go back to normal tomorrow? Sadly the Cgm expires tonight and even though I have one I’m not using it so the follow up data will just be a few finger pricks.

Morning All, I am becoming quite jealous of you, reading about Gym visits and walks etc, sadly neither figure particularly highly in my life due to long term medical issues (Bi Lateral Below Knee Amputee and also Essential Tremor sufferer). That said, we lead as active a life as possible and spend as much time as we can in the garden, weather permitting, or working on the interior of our delightful cottage, despite its somewhat suicidal tendencies. LOL

Strange things have been happening with Pin Prick readings over the last few months, following surgery for Deep Brain Stimulation my Blood Sugars are behaving better than they had ever previously done? I was always the wrong side of 8.5 mol but since surgery I am constantly around 4.5 to 5.6? No one seems to have a clue why this should be, but I'm not complaining, believe me. We live on a very Mediterranean based diet and that seems to have finally reduced everything, even the waist!!

Anyway, "Hi" and lovely to meet you all.

Well done - Mediterranean diet is very low carb so definitely benefits your glucose level

Looks like I didn't post yesterday , numbers were 7.6 ( finger prick ) and 7.8 on Libre . This morning similar fasting numbers of 7.2 and 7.3 . I did notice my numbers go into the 3's during the night ! Also drop really well when out walking . Shame these Libre cost so much this one is a free trial . I might treat myself to one a month after this one .
