What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I have to buy my own as I am type 2. I buy 200 at a time and just miscalculated, thought I still had 50 left. Strips are on order and should be delivered either tonight or tomorrow. I can wait after all according to my GP I shouldn't be testing at all.....?

I am in a similar position re. strips. A couple of years ago my DN recommended I did some testing but would not provide any strips or test meter. I do fund my own strips from an online supplier as I can get 50 strips for the price of 20 at local chemist which I think is a real rip-off. The good thing for me is that I can now predict to more or less within a single unit what my readings will be as I have been testing and comparing with foods for quite a while now. It is only the first thing in the morning readings that we log here that causes a raising of the eyebrow or totally baffled by an unexpected high or low.
Hopefully your strips will arrive soon and testing is useful despite some medical professionals views, perhaps they are looking after the costs too.

A no surprise for me this morning at 6.8

I have been testing my BG for over 12-13 years. Lately, I check my BP too. I can easily predict my BG and a lot of the time it's the same or slightly off. I can easily go without testing, but I don’t want to. Testing BG keeps me on track.

Morning all 5.00 mmol/L on Humpday morning. Partially cloudy weather, not bad for autumn. Have a nice day everyone.
