What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning I was 7.1 this morning. Its really weird, I can test in middle of night and can be 5.8 but when its time to get up, I'm always higher. Never been told where I should be first thing in mornings, its all a bit confusing. Was diagnosed last October.
Type 2s should have fasting blood glucose of 4-7. 7.1 isn't too high, especially as meters aren't that accurate.
But a rise in he morning might be due to 'Dawn Phenomenon' where your liver dumps stored glucose into your bloodstream as you wake to get you going.

6.7 Contour plus meter.
6.1 yesterday
Low carb and low calorie 1500 yesterday..
So it's higher than it was with less carbs and calories?????
Did have a chocolate but didn't raise b.s. over limit due to lower carbs for rest of day.
And would have had it anyway.
Did take 2 metformin instead of 3 but didn't think I needed the extra with the lower carbs think I am miscalculating a few things unless it's the liver.
