Hi Deanoh You are a newbie on here then and type1 diabetic. There is so much help and advice on here just ask anything you need to help you manage your diabetes so many people will help you with a huge amount of helpful advice and support. So welcome to the forum I'm type2 but my sister and grandson are type1 lots to learn just take small steps in any changes and try to maintain steady BG levels without spiking. Other type1 on here are better to give you advice just ask? K

Yeah they're generally always high, but not extremely..

Got a few appointments haha but I also suffered a heart attack whilst in hospital DKA so a load more appointments for that too!

Get there in the end :)

Hello all. Very late posting! :angelic: 7.5 today. I realise that this is probably not strictly diabetes related but I was hoping that someone could share their experience of an Ultra Sound Guided aspiration/ biopsy of the neck/ throat area. I won't bore you with too many details but I have recently seen an ENT consultant and had an utrasound of my throat area. I have since received an appointment for tomorrow for the above. There are no details of what was found during the Ultasound and when I ring the Consultant's secretaries I'm told they cannot reveal my results. The letter just says that there will be no anaesthetic and that they usually make 2 needle punctures. I know I should be used to needles by now but I'm feeling unusually anxious about it and would feel better if I knew what to expect. Sorry if I'm doing wrong by asking on here but I've no-one else to ask and would be very grateful. Thanks.

Thanks, Diabeticliberty for taking the time to reply. I had already seen the item you posted which was specifically for thyroid biopsy. I expect it will be similar, although I'm not sure where they will be taking the samples from and won't know until I get there. I think that lack of control is what's freaking me out. I like to know in advance! Thanks again.:)

I had an aspiration biopsy when first diagnosed with tumors of the perotid glands, as I remember It involved the use of a syringe type needle and the drawing off of a few cells of one of the tumors It did not hurt much and only took a short time to carry out. Unfortunately I am in the very small percentage of people where the biopsy was inconclusive, so had to wait for surgery to find that the tumors where benign.

Thanks, JohnEGreen. That sounds very similar and is reassuring. Glad that yours turned out to benign in the end.:)

হ্যালো আপনি সব এই সূক্ষ্ম পুরানো বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে।. This mornings greeting is in Bengali as last night I threw together the spiciest, most ridiculously hot beef curry that I have ever constructed and scientist stylee. It has been in the slow cooker now for the past 10 hours and a small taster about 5 minutes ago has put 4 large blisters on my eyeball. My blood sugars by the way are 4mmols. I must away now to find my old pirate eyepatch Argggggggggg me hearties

Good luck in Toronto.K
Had a good trip to Toronto. Saw my neurologist, she is sending me to see a different specialist to get a more complete diagnosis. Probably fairly soon.

I had a nice birthday yesterday. I always enjoy heading into the city. I've been visiting Toronto for years. I have family living there. But now I like the journey and seeing all the interesting places along the side of the highway. The highway has changed a lot since when I was a kid. It use to two lanes for most of the trip. Now it is a completely divided four lane highway. Which make traveling to and from Toronto so much easier now.
