What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Well this is odd,! I usually have a few vodkas on ice during the course of the evening and my blood sugar is usually between 5 and 6 in the morning before breakfast. I decided to give the booze a rest for a while last week but now I make up with what feels like a hangover! My quality of sleep has deteriorated and my blood sugar now reads around 7.5 on average, any answers?

When you drink your body treats alcohol as more toxic than sugar , so it deals with that in preference to manufacturing glucose, hence many of us have lower blood sugar levels after drinking. A " few" vodka's on ice " usually" does sound like a fair it of alcohol- so please be careful that in getting " good " blood sugars - you are not giving yourself alcoholic fatty liver disease instead of the non alcoholic fatty liver disease - both are equally bad for you.

My own fasting number 4.0 today - funnily enough the result of three single malts !
