What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.1 this morning.......did a little experiment,a small slice of bread with evening meal,it didn't work too well,5.6 last night, then I guess this was the liver dump.........ah well I'll stick to what I know is ok!!:)
Just wondering what bread you're using...giving up bread was one of the hardest things for me...then I switched to Burgen Bread (soya & Linseed)...or one of the High protein breads...much lower carbs...tastes surprisingly good...yesterday tried the LIDL protein rolls...with a home made burger & cheese...the protein rolls can be a little heavy...a quick warm in the microwave...20 seconds or so...delicious.

Hi. @Ymdawd just given the hot steam and towel over head a try for last 10 minutes, initially I coughed more then it eased don't really know how long I should breath in the steam for, any recommendations? It's a relief to get more than a few moments without coughing. I've not been taking anything for the cough because I'm still on the doxycycline until Friday and wasn't sure if I was able to mix other meds with this antibiotics, I realise there are different antibiotics for different problems is this why this antibiotics isn't working for the cough has well Has for Lymes Disease, and the cough may be viral and no antibiotics is going to work for viruses I assume.? Thank you again, will do the steam treatment throughout the day nice to get some good advice your a star in my book? K
Hi Granny_grump. Sorry you are suffering. I've just had a long haul with bronchitis and found inhaling steam gave some relief. Have you tried adding a few menthol crystals to the hot water or even using good old fashioned Vic or Vapour rub around your chest/ throat area at night. I found it helped me to breath. Best wishes and sympathies.

Thanks Bubbsie,I haven't tried the Burgen bread, I'll try that, the Lidl rolls were ok too.The problem is hubby makes his own bread, and yesterday I arrived back from seeing nice new young GP who had praised my now normal HbA1c level and was interested in the diet. The praise must have gone to my head, .....I was feeling a little bit pleased with myself, the bread smelt very tempting,so I had a slice!!Next time I spread the LCHF word I'll not give in to temptation so easily!!

Sorry to hear your still feeling rough. Have you tried putting some lobes oil in a bowl of hot water then towel over your head. That may help. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Morning all. 8.2 at 7.25 am. Arrived home last night after settling mum into bed to find the ceiling and cornice above our dining room window bulging. Discovered a leak in the bathroom above. Leak "temporarily" sorted and water released but now have paper hanging down and a mess to clear up. Just what we needed on top of everything else! Not the end of the world but not good timing either. Have a good day one and all.:)

Hi @paula121s I'm at that stage I'll try anything now but did you mean albus oil if so I'm sure I have some in bathroom cupboard will check it out. Thanks

Breathe in nice and slowly, hold for a few seconds and then gently breathe out. For up to 10 minutes or so. You can repeat this as often as you like. Plus drink more water to keep your chest well hydrated
