What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I had my pips assessment in December. Still not heard anything . Not sure how long it takes to hear

Thanks ziggy fingers cossed lunch time not so bad in the 9s and just tezted an still in low 9s so by tea should be lower heres hoping
 
Hello everyone
Been to hospital today I have been told it is skin cancer but not to worry has I won't die from it, I now have to go back on 23rd January for a second consultation,where they will assess it and give me a date for surgery Has I will have to go to theatre to have it removed,so at least I now know what it is though couldn't remember it's name,and I know I needn't worry that it will take my life? The rest I will hopefully find out after next consultation. The last time I had a lump removed it was non cancerous and was removed there and then and the biopsy was taken and I got the results fairly soon in around a couple of weeks in the post. Today it was very different the doctor was only able to tell me what it was and the rest is upto the next consultation and surgeon? But it looks like you have got me for a while yet and that's a huge relief! K

The doctor confirmed it was skin cancer but having seen the look on my face followed it with but you won't die from it,he told me what this type was called but it didn't register after hearing it was skin cancer, you can imagine. I have to go back on January 23rd for a second consultation and then a date for surgery has it has to be done in theatre,very short and brief and to the point that's how I describe it, but at least I now know what it is and what has to happen next so I will get on with it and hope to find out when it will be removed. But we are away on the 5/2/2018 so don't know if they will do the op before I go or when I get back,will have to wait for that outcome.

@JohnEGreen thank you so much after he said skin cancer I heard very little but he must have seen the look on my face and followed it with I won't die from it,can't tell you what a huge relief that was,just want it removed now has soon has possible! K

@ziggy_w know doubt you will have seen my post about hospital today so I won't go into it much, it is skin cancer but I will survive it's not life threatening! So thank goodness for that need to go back and they will tell me when I go to have it removed in theatre! Thanks for your best wishes! K

hope your ok kathleen it must have been a shock for you it will prob get done after you get bk are you going anywhere nice it sounds as if everything will be fine judging what consultant has said although i know thats easy for me to say as its not me its happening to try not to worry too much again easier said than done il say a little prayer for you xx up to now bgs have behaved a lot better than of late fingers crossed :)

Kathleen, please have a hug from me. I'm glad to hear it's not life-threatening, but still not great. I was very much hoping it would be nothing. Thinking of you.

Hi @karen8967 Geoff and I are going to Costa Del Sol for a mid week break in February,I should have been going with my sister but she was going to have major surgery so couldn't go, they have now cancelled the surgery until the busy season has gone by so she could have come but I would have been worried for her so it's Best this way I can now relax a bit more! K
