What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks @Cumberland > I find type 1 folks so brave really as they have to battle with hypo's and all sorts of things. I'm guessing it must be very hard at times.

@Moggely
Generally be it T1 or T2 or any type of diabetes we’re all soldiers together in the diabetic army fighting our battles

Some have it harder than others granted

Wishing you stability with your readings take care

Afteringnoon from me, late sorry folks.
Was out enjoying myself on my motorbike.
Was 7.4 this morning, 6.0 when I got home just now 13:30.
Have a good afternoon folks.
This is all very sensible - who are you and what have you done with @alf_Josiah? The will of the people demands to know. (I just love what a malleable concept that is and how the English language has suddenly lost all meaning.)

Yes it’s like a competition to see how low you can go and intimidating to posters who have double figures +

I felt inadequate posting my really high numbers and really peeved off with some on here in the past who moaned if they were in the high 4s or 5s

You are right being on insulin is an up and down journey and hypos are part of that unfortunately

Take care Goacher

I’m lucky I’ve not had readings in the teens for a long time. Lchf has really changed my life though started 8 weeks ago and it’s making huge differences

Oh crumbs you are having a rough time of late

I’m in a bit of pain this morning with my feet

Maybe we both need a hug lol
@Cumberland yeah a bit of a tough time but my hospice nurse is going to try and talk to my stomach dr so that’s good and I got to church today which I’m happy with :) sorry to hear about the lows you,ve been having cums

Hugs to @Ziggy2017, I do hope you get some info that will make your days and nights easier. Hugs to @Cumberland also. I know you are expert in your own situ, but its still a chore and a worry. Be well.

5.7 this am. Home gym today for me...have a good one.
@Canvaspic thanks my hospice nurse is going to have a talk with my dr so hopefully I will find a solution

May I ask when one tests for FBG please. As soon as you wake up or later? Tested myself this morning after I got up and was 6.6 so disappointed as it’s been in the 4s and 5s for a while. Thanks

This is as I understand it, Mrs J tells I'm wrong most of the time so here goes.
FBS fasting blood sugars assuming you meant FBS not FBG. Test for blood sugar level first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything.
Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong as Mrs J says.
Now quite a few people would give their back and front teeth for a reading of 6.6.

As for low readings, a few members on this thread are playing games with their medication and have a reason to try for low numbers. Talk to your diabetic doctor not nurse and ask what RANGE your levels should be, we are all different.

Ok I have kidnapped the real Alf and he's doing my head in, how much can I pay you to take him back ?
Ps 'is engrish is appalling his grammar worse and worst of all is he keeps giving me and my gang maths lessons it's worse than being at shool.

I try to test as soon as I wake. Well to be honest after I've used the loo and had a drink of water but the earlier the better. I find that my numbers then increase until I've taken something small to eat. Its not the same with everyone though, or at least thats what I read.... Best thoughts.in all events and hope this helps

Thank you very much for this @Canvaspiv

Morning all. 4.3 for me today.

@Flora123 I test on waking - kit is kept in the living room, so a few paces from the bed to sofa and test. If you’re consistent about exactly when you do it, you’ll be able to spot trends.

I’m usually slightly higher on waking than before bed and then rise for a while in the morning (whether I eat or not) and then start heading down around 9am or so.
