What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hello all. Busy day yesterday, so didn't get to post. Fasting blood sugars were 4.5 yesterday and 4.4 today.

Also gave my GP a call yesterday morning and asked to pick up my blood test results. Was so happy to see HbA1c in the 20s (actual result was 29) for the first time since low carbing. Also, liver test was fine, no change from the time when I only had one glass of wine a week. So, lots of reason to celebrate, which we did last night.

@DJC3, @PenguinMum, and @dogslife -- Thanks so very much for your kind words. Definitely felt like a pin cushion after that morning -- might half gone through close to half a container of test strips in half a day. In the evening, blood sugars had returned to stability.
@SB.25 -- Wow, what a huge drop in your HbA1c -- really well done.

Wonderful sunny day today and temperatures going up into the higher teens. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
Amazing results and well justified. Not going to lie about being green with envy but also can't lie I couldn't eat or work as hard as you either. You deserve all the likes/winners coming your way.

Yaaaay, @ziggy_w that is great news! Congratulations! :)

I was extremely tired, could have fell asleep on a clothes line, and for the first time ever I felt like my head was full of cotton wool. The night time was the worst as I was worried about ketones and such, but then around midnight, down went my readings! It's definitely been a strange one, last three weeks its been low all the time then this, just goes to show you how complex and sometimes unpredictable diabetes is, if it can stump Consultants what chance do we have. Well apart from living it, I get my new pump on Monday so will be having a conversation with my Nurse to ask what's actually happening as "Well sometimes Diabetes does as it wants" isn't really the best answer.

I don't know ... sometimes I think it's the most realistic answer. Sigh. :)

7.1 FBG this Friday morning.

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Very late on parade also been very busy with a little pleasure thrown in. A gentle 44.2 miles on my motorbike .

Yesterday morning a 6.1 and this morning a 7.1

@ziggy_w what an amazing result...its spellbinding...very pleased for you and full of admiration.
@jjrrak glad all good with you and the animals of Goa...and continue to have fun!
@SaskiaKC just wanted to say hello and hope you and the KC are having a good day. It gets lonely on the forum on Fri evening as we all unwind after the week (with a chilled glass of Provence rose in my case). It was like summer here today and btw we didnt leave the EU today. The only thing I am stockpilling is cat nuggets which are made in Poland for a British company. If things go badly I might get to like them lol.

Hi, @PenguinMum . The KittenCat and I are having a nice quiet restful Friday, waiting for a maintenance man to come and fix the living room ceiling light. Since it's now 3:30 I guess he won't make it today. I will give him another hour and then take off out to pick up a prescription and maybe something more exciting for supper than half a smoked chicken. The grocery store has delicious battered cod on Fridays.

I have been amusing myself by looking at websites of cities that are good for retirees and also known for their "cowboy culture." I probably won't move to any as they are all west of the Mississippi, but it's nice to think of at least vacationing in a place where there are not only horse people but honest-to-goodness cowboys (I hear they're actually still gentlemen -- even in the 21st century! ;) )

Those cowboy culture places sound fascinating. You obviously love horses and must have had some great times around them. I hope you get to go there for a vacation if you can. I’m off to chop veg for supper so see you soon. :cat:

Wow! Ziggy what a fantastic result, and very well deserved. I bet the day seemed even sunnier after that.

Good night folks! Just didnt get here before, my life is just too hectic!!

6.1 this morning, 5.8 a couple of hours later, 4.3 before dinner.

However dinner was a carvery thing so carbs increased a little (1 roast potato and a small Yorkie pud (very reserved) and about half a metric tonne of meat!
Followed by a few vodka . Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

@jjraak I was wondering where you were today. Glad you're OK!

Hello to Basil and Sweetie (lovely calico!). Love the arty sunrise (sunset?) photo. Are those fishing boats?

Cheers @SaskiaKC .
I'm much more of a night owl then a early lark. .so rare I see a sunrise unless at work..lol.

Yeah, it's an active fisheries, fishermen come and go to the right of that picture as you look at it..(small harbour)

Thanks @PenguinMum
Having a lovely time, and animals all good.

On a side note, I've found the foods to be ok

There might be two reasons for this

Either my insulin resistance has improved, (possible ) after my actions inspired by the forum over the last 6 months.

OR

the foods here are less processed then at home.

Found that a piece of toast (looked and tasted like wonder loaf) spiked me..

But where bread appears to be organic or made on premises it has less impact then normal..

Found the nan bread..(slimmer then the more doughy puffy stuff we get at home)
Barely registered.

I won't be abandoning this WOE, as the benefits all around have been so successful.
But for now.
It "chin chin, bottoms up, salut, nostrovia, down the hatch" and many others such like.

Cheers all.
Take care
& Enjoy your weekend. :D

5.0 this morning. I’ve got a lovely day ahead - a pre birthday treat with a friend, we are having a spa day: Champagne at hers to begin with and lunch at the spa, a facial at some point and a lot of lollopping around in the jacuzzi, sauna etc. They have a heated outdoor pool as well which sounds lovely.
Hope you all have a great day too.

Here in the east coast of England it's light at 5 am. My sugars an hour later were 4.8 the wind has dropped so there's that early morning sunny stillness in the air - still frosty though.

Rise and shine. It is going to be a beautiful day. Off to the chandlers after breakfast for fixings for my new anchor windlass. Then we'll be singing sea shanties if I can fit the darn thing (but no rum).

FBG 9.3 mmo/lt at 06.30hrs, down over 2.0 from yesterday, despite homemade chili with mixed pulses for dinner.

Edit: 15.45hrs, BG 7.3, that is 2 hours after Greek Salad and Tuna, plus Diet Coke. Shouldn't there be a higher number later in the day? I'm confused.
