What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I live in Germany and was immediately given a mg tester. I usually wake up, do about 4 km Nordic walking and measure. I used to get high sugar level of 120 to 130 without exercise. I suffer from night syndrome too. Then with exercise it dropped. Between 110mg and 116mg. But on holiday I was waking up, doing my Nordic Walk and getting 104. I was doing it on the edge of the beach in the water hardened sand. Also bare footed. ZThen bare footed most of the day at the beach. Is Grounding the cause of the better readings? Im back home and its back as it was before. This morning I grounded after my walk and had 112mg.

Hello Mallyman and welcome to this thread. We're pleased you could join us.

I dont pop in here as often as i should so i was way back at the beginning of this thread and was shocked to see the post about testing before showering or any other activity. I got diagnosed Type 2 3 years ago and have never heard this. I get up, shower, go downstairs, sometimes tidy up a bit if needed maybe put the bins out. So have i been getting false readings all this time???

Maybe if you suffer with the Dawn Phenomenon. As your liver dumps glucose into your blood stream so you have energy to run away from that sabre toothed tiger! :p Try testing tomorrow morning before you do anything other than wash your hands and see if there’s a big difference

I'll do that, thank you. I have always had pretty high readings as my management hasnt been what it should, but having changed my ways recently, i've been getting down to 6 - 8 first thing. Will report back tomorrow.

Back yesterday from family holiday ( 8 days of over eating esp carbs ) plenty of walking did 25 thousand steps one of the days . Reading whilst away were mainly in the high 6's and 7's so pleased to get a straight 6 this morning . :)

5.9 this morning, hoping the low numbers are here to stay. It's back to work for me today, but I did have to dig out trousers one size smaller this morning - got sick of having to tug my pants up while travelling yesterday! Walking all over Paris is apparently good for you.

Will report back tomorrow.
Welcome back, and I'll look forward to your postings. OK, I've found it necessary to regularly monitor my BG early after I wake up to gauge the efficacy of my Glucose control overnight, it gauges how my EndoSys is working and recognises which foodstuffs eaten the day before are Spawn o The Devil!
