What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi All you know I am one of your biggest supporters but I am stepping away for a little while as when I had my eye injection on Tuesday I had an injury which I can’t describe. I am getting better but I am not ready to move on to normal stuff yet.
Gentle hugs, take time for you, we'll be here when you're feeling more yourself. x

Hope everything soon settles down for you and I wish you a speedy recovery.

I eat turnip or celeriac fries on occasion. I seem to get away with them. I just make sure those are the only carbs on the plate. What was the rise for the half mince pie with cream?
@Ryhia Celeriac! Yes, I could not remember the name!
Well, I started at 6.2, was 7.6 at the 2 hour mark, then shot up to 8.3 half an hour later, down to 5.2 two hours after that. I should’ve tested the mince pie (@DEBBIESCOTT I deliberately threw the other half out for the jackdaws) on separate days to the chips. Or left several hours between because I don’t know what triggered the delayed rise.

Libre 5.8
Finger prick 5.2

2nd day back in the hive after my 1/2 mince pie/celeriac chips experiment. Chuffed with that.
Still bemused by the Libre reading being higher - it’s been like that for days now. Only ever the FBG readings.

Staying in the fives and smiling about it.
In August, my meter readings were 25, 22, 18, 27, 14, 19 mmol etc.
Joined Diabetes .Co.uk in late October.
During a 6 week period, I've reduced Hba1c readings from 80 to 62, and I'm sure the numbers are flying down much further at a rapid rate.....

Blood Glucose readings on a daily basis now are in the 5's. They were regularly in Double figures previously. I only get in Double figures now, if I eat late and make bad choices regarding what I eat or drink, taking in higher carbs than I should.
The support I've received has been amazing ✨❤️. People have guided me, encouraged me, coached me, helped me and been friendly....
I'm very very grateful.
Thank you to all who've contributed.
BG 5.7 mmol this morning.
Smiling every day recently.
Have a lovely Sunday ..........

Aww @Ashybang I can “see” you smiling from here! You have come so far, so fast and climbed out of the pit of despair and depression you were in. It’s a pleasure taking the journey with you, rough and smooth.

Hello @Ashybang. You're stringing together some cracking numbers and it's great to see. Consistency is the name of the game and, if you can steer clear of the sugary white stuff, it does get easier.

I was brought up on 2 teaspoons of sugar in tea and coffee, but these days if I inadvertently sip somebody else's sugary coffee, it tastes ghastly and it's surprising how quickly this change happens.
