I miss porridge so much……and pasta! The rest you can keep. I was never a great fruit or vegetable eater :p

I was never a fan of fruit or vegetables, but for me now, I don’t want to eat all carb meals, so I’ve actually found I now like the spinach/ broccoli all the greens. Eat loads of chicken/ fish. Sometimes i have a blow out and eat Pizza, that’s a tough one to get right

6.2 this morning - nothing unexpected. 2 things occurred yesterday, 1. I made some low carb speculaas - yum yum. I am very determined to very slowly eat the lot. Taking account of the carb content of course. And 2. I seem to be suffering with either BPPV vertigo, which I get sometimes, or my neck stenosis has been aggravated in some way. Went to get something out of the fridge yesterday - came over dizzy and ended up falling to the floor. It could have been a lot worse though as I just missed hitting my head on the dining room table. Still somewhat wobbly today so being extra cautious.

5.8 this morning…sweet! Minus 30 C upon waking, dang that’s cold. The dog just doesn’t understand why we don’t take her out as much as we used to. Hubby is a sport and walks her in this nastiness. Good thing is that it looks like just one more day in the extreme cold and then we’ll warm up touch.

What are/is speculaas? I’m intrigued.

Gosh your dizziness and fall sounds scary, thank goodness you missed the table. Sending hugs x

Horrible headache and sleepless night.
Paracetamol usually work wonders, but this time pain clung on and ruined any chance of decent sleep.
BG reading this morning of 6.9 mmol.
Up on yesterday's fasted 5.7 mmol, but considering the night I had, I suppose its not so bad.....
Sending Hugs not bugs ........
A few folk are lame in the stable with varied issues, so hope for speedy recoveries for all.
Evening @Ashybang. This morning's reading of 6.9 mmol is none too shabby after a rough night.

Are these sinus headaches, bilious attacks, tension headaches or migraine that you suffer from?
Not idle curiosity, the prevention and remedies for various types of headache are different.

I hope you were able to take it easy today and feel better this evening.

It's basically a Dutch spiced biscuit made at Christmas time, (cinnamon, and mixed spice) something like a Biscoff, I am quite fond of spiced biscuits so I decided to try making them by substituting the wheat flour with almond flour and used erythritol for the sugar content. Worked out ok but I guesstimated the carb value at around 3 gms carbs per biscuit so I'm limiting my other carbs to accommodate that. I've actually just googled Keto Speculoos (Speculaas) - same difference- and found various recipes - here is a link to a recipe at 1/2 carb per biscuit. Haven't tried it but it might be nice - If you like spiced biscuits of course. https://www.gnom-gnom.com/gluten-free-keto-speculoos-cookies/

Thank you for the hugs re the fall, they are much appreciated.

Evening @Ryhia. I've suffered intermittently with BPP vertigo for some 3 years, resulting in balance issues and a couple of falls. Getting older, as body components begin to wear out, isn't exactly a bundle of laughs. Retirement certainly has its compensations though, provided that your general health is all right. Sending virtual hugs, Take care.

Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
Morning all. @DEBBIESCOTT I sympathise, our health centre is the same, and a similar distance.

Odd readings this dark cold Sunday morning …
Libre 5.9
GlucoNavii 8.4 shock horror. Retested 7.7
Retested 5 minutes later 6.1 (Libre still 5.9). Yes, thanks, I will take that one, best of 3.

I hope all the headaches, aches, pains and general malaise soon wear off for the afflicted folk, and everyone else remains fit and in good spirits. Meanwhile hugs all round anyway and a squishy one for @Estragon.

The first prick of the New Year since my Libre packed up - a 5.9 FBG this morning. Very happy with that, I scoffed some French stick with soup and cheese yesterday at lunchtime, so expected consequences.

Discovered a pipe leak, which depressingly now means builders and plumbers on my to do list. Nothing is ever simple is it?

Morning all. I'm in the nasty 9's this morning. Today starts a new weekforme so I'm going to write everything down and be ultra careful. I'm also going to ring the dr and ask for help, I can't seem to do it myself. @DEBBIESCOTT, it's the same with our surgery here in Lincolnshire. I can remember when we went to the dr, we took a seat and every time someone came out, the next one went in and we all moved up a seat. Sometimes they were the good old days! Have a good day all. :)
